Branks BBQ & Catering began in the 1980s when Charlie Brank started perfecting his barbecue recipes using repurposed appliances. In the early 1990s, Charlie studied under renowned BBQ expert Paul Kirk, refining his craft. His wife Lori focused on creating signature side dishes, including the now-iconic Brank's Cowboy Beans. The family relocated to Sumner in 1992, and in 1995, they opened their first restaurant after years of prayer and dedication.Over the years, the business expanded from 1,200 to 8,000 square feet, driven by faith and community support. Today, Charlie and Lori have passed operational responsibilities to their three children, continuing a legacy built on quality, tradition, and customer loyalty. We remain committed to serving exceptional barbecue while honoring our roots as a family-owned business in Sumner, Washington.

Our full-service catering handles events from weddings to corporate functions. Menus feature smoked meats, sides, and desserts served buffet-style with optional staff assistance. Pricing starts at $225 for family combos.
Baby Back Ribs
Slow-smoked baby back ribs available by half or full rack. Half racks start at $22, full racks at $44. Perfect for sharing or pairing with other menu items.
Brisket
Hand-carved beef brisket served by the pound at $32/lb. Also available in sandwiches starting at $21.50 or as part of combo plates.
Pulled Pork
Tender pulled pork available by the pound at $24/lb. Featured in sandwiches, sliders, and combo meals starting at $17.
Holiday Menus
Seasonal menus for Thanksgiving and Christmas featuring whole turkeys, hams, and traditional sides. Orders require 48-hour notice with pickup available on select dates.

What catering services do you offer?
We cater weddings, corporate events, and private parties with buffet-style service. Full-service options include staff assistance, while drop-off packages start at $130.
Do you sell by-the-pound meats?
Yes! Beef brisket at $32/lb, pulled pork at $24/lb, and ribs from $22/half rack. Available for dine-in, takeout, or catering.
Are holiday meal orders available?
Yes, we offer pre-order holiday menus for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Whole turkeys and hams start at $105, with sides available for 10-12 servings.
What are your operating hours?
Open Monday-Thursday 10:30 AM-8 PM, Friday-Saturday 10:30 AM-9 PM. Closed Sundays except for special holiday hours.
Do you have a food truck?
Yes, our food truck serves private events and festivals. Minimums apply for catering events, while concession-style service is available for public events.

We went for lunch and had a great time. The staff is very nice and they make you feel at home. We had rib tips and the wife had brisket. Both tested really good. Definitely going again.

Always a pleasure. Everything on the menu is great! The huge smoker they use is out front for public viewing. Don't expect fast food, so sit back and enjoy the acoustic guitar music. Easy on/off the highway if you're heading northbound on 167.

I've only had all 3 of their sandwiches and I love them all! The Sweet Onion and BBQ Brisket are both my go-to and the bbq has a great flavor. I always go pulled pork and love how flavorful and juicy the meat is, just writing this review had my mouth watery. As far as the sides go both the normal cut and sweet potato waffle fries are great! The beans are good but not great and sadly the potato salad is my least favorite (and I love potato salad). If you're in the area and craving some BBQ then give them a try!

Ive been passing by this place for years and I could always smell the bbq cooking outside. At first I thought the food was overpriced i mean 24 dollars for a sandwich? Until i actually got my food it came with a respectable portion of brisket and a large amount of broth (definitely my favorite part) two sides, and a dip sauce of your choice. I personally went with the loaded potato and mac and cheese.

Great BBQ. Am a devout fan of their bbq chicken, ribs and brisket (my favorite cuts). The folks are friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and a comfortable place to share grinds with la familia!

Their salad was fantastic. We did a large group of 25+/- and they accommodated us in their back room. Very spacious. Kid friendly! The waitress had no issues with our kiddos being kids! Since we had the whole back room (no tables aside from ours), the kids were doing cartwheels & walking around freely while the parents talked. It was perfect. The waitress did a fantastic job & was great with knowing who ordered what! Very impressive! The food was drool-worthy! SO GOOD! I enjoyed every bite! Their corn bread is so moist & delicious!
