Great service amazing service. We ordered the Spare ribs, a fully loaded baked potato and steamed vegetables. I would have given five stars but our food was cold. The food came out very fast. You'll love the decor. There's a bar area with speciality drinks. A place to eat but they need to make sure the food is hot before coming to the table. The prices are reasonable.

Good bbq for what feels like a chain restaurant. The staff was great & the place was very nice.

Absolutely no complaints about the food. The ribs, prime rib sandwich, sides and drinks were all excellent. However, my husband ordered "Ribs and Ribs" which was listed around $23. When the bill arrived, we had been charged over $36. We asked our server about it and she said they substituted short ribs for beef ribs and they cost more. We were never asked if the substitute was ok.

Most restaurants would have asked us first or given us the upgrade for no extra charge. The manager eventually gave us a $7 price break, but it should have been the full $13. Also, we were one of two tables occupied at the time (it was near closing) and it took forever to get the attention of the waitstaff. Overall, it was great food, but maybe the waitstaff needs a little more training.

First time I've had this. Average bbq. Nothing impressive. Sauce wasn't great. You can get a lot better literally anywhere else honestly. I will go elsewhere next time. The best part was the Mac n cheese and as you can see in my picture, that tiny little cup cost me $3.25, which is absolutely insane. Also don't like how if you want extra sauce (which I always do), you have to buy extra cups. So stupid. For a 15 dollar sandwich I could've gone to Jack Stack and had a delicious meal. This isn't KC bbq.

The service is amazing and the food is even better. If you ever need a filling dinner and are in the area, this is a must have! Seriously delicious and I regret not living here

First timer in KC work (from Texas), and saw this place had great reviews for BBQ. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries and onion rings via UberEats. The food arrived quickly and perfectly temperature hot. It was well packaged in a plastic container with an additional cup of their BBQ and coleslaw on the side. The onion rings came with ranch.

The fries and o rings were perfect, I loved them. Giving this review 3 stars for the pulled pork being slightly dry. Even though the sandwich came with some BBQ sauce on it, dipping it into the cup of sauce didn't help it much. I would try this place again though if I'm ever back in town for work though. Thanks!

Great service, tons of seating. Had an early dinner here. All in all was good. Easy to find and lots of parking.

Man this place is a big disappointment. Nice building, burnt ends where dry and hard, ribs where tuff. Won't try this place again.

Just moved back home to Missouri and decided to go here for a date night. Our waiter who I think was Curtis did an amazing job making sure we had everything we needed the whole time. We not once had to ask for anything and he gave us extra on top of that! This young man is going places and maybe that's upper management because he knows what it takes to make customers not only feel appreciated but also feel special by going the extra mile.

It wasn't just us. I saw him give phenomenal service to all of his tables. He deserves a raise. That goes for all the employees who seemed so nice and easy going which can be hard to do on a busy Saturday night. Keep up the great work everybody!

Man I love BBQ but this is not BBQ. If I had to guess I would say they use an electric smoker. The brisket tasted like a roast and no smoke flavor at all. Now I've been smoking for around 40 plus years and even a light smoke flavor like pecan is noticeable. The service by Dustin was great but cannot in good standing recommend as a BBQ restaurant. Good luck!

A really delicious place to have really well done barbecue ribs or a tender brisket. The place is really pleasant and enjoyable with a lot of option from the menu. Also a relax place to have some spiritual drinks with the friends or have a good time with the family. The price is really modest and the staff really efficient.

1/30/22 place was packed. Line out the door. There was a few hiccups during our visit. We were seated in a secluded seating area. I don't think the waiter knew he was soooo busy! & where we were seated he can't see from his main dining area. We sat for awhile maybe 20mins? No waiter/waitress. We let the host know. Waiter came very quickly and was very kind.

Overall service was wonderful! He came back frequently and was very personal in our convos. We will be back again when in the area! Coleslaw & baby back ribs To die for! Some sides were smaller than expected but all were absolutely delicious! If you don't want sauce on your ribs/meat let them know. My ribs came with sauces but we got additional sauces on the side

Terrific atmosphere, flavorful meats, and tasty sides make a comfortable spot for special occasions, date night, or individual dining. I ordered the salmon sandwich and salad combo. The fish was well grilled, cooked thoroughly with smoke taste, but not overcooked to dryness. My salad was satisfactory--basic iceberg lettuce with bacon bits, peas, boiled egg and croutons. Burnt ends and pulled pork samples showed expert technique. A companion ordered a half rack of ribs (5-6). The ribs were huge; two were sufficient for her meal, which included grilled bread and sweet baked beans.

We wanted some Barbeque but didn't want to take the full trek into Kansas City from Leavenworth and did not have reservations. We settled for Smokehouse Barbeque in Zona Rosa. I recall trying Smokehouse years before, but dont remember the food; it isn't that memorable. Let's start with the good: the pickle fries were delicious. My son ordered a kids chicken strips and the portion was gigantic.

I settled on a lunch platter with beef burnt ends and baby back ribs. Nothing was bad, but it felt kind of bland compared to other Barbeque establishments in the city. My wife selected pork burnt ends and I'm happy to say I'm happy I chose beef; she preferred the pork in comparison, so I suppose it is dealer's choice here. I selected beans as my side.

While I was happy with the selection, they just weren't as good as the other Barbeque experiences I've recently had. Smokehouse is decent and adequate if you are looking for something in the area with making a long drive or making reservations. I'll likely remember this trip so I won't be stuck wondering like this time.

Really good barbecue with good sides, though I wish it were better value. The baby back ribs were absolutely top notch - hard to imagine anything much better. The (beef) burnt ends were decadent and thoroughly enjoyed, though I _have_ had better. Next time we need to try the pork "burnt ends". The chicken was great, and I'm glad we ordered it.

Never as tasty as fatty cow products, but Smokehouse does a great job with it. The kids loved the mac & cheese, though it was a bit runny for my tastes. Also, quite pale (no fake yellow color), which for me is a plus but for the kids was a concern. Paying 28 bucks for a tray of it makes me a bit sad. The beans were great, and the coleslaw was perfect. Actually, the coleslaw was a bit soupy, so we ended up with a quarter of the container with just liquid when we were done.

Use a slotted spoon! We happened to have shredded cabbage in the fridge and threw it into the liquid to make an entire second quart of the good stuff. My biggest complaint, and means I won't order them again, was the grilled vegetables. For $5.50, I expected more than a 4oz styrofoam container of maybe 6 vegetable chunks. They were definitely good, but it was embarrassing that a pair of these $5.50 grilled vegetable containers couldn't even fill up a tea saucer.

So the two stars is more for a service issue then a food quality issue. I came in on my day off to enjoy their happy hour and watch the game. When I came in, the place was a ghost town no doubt they were doing a good amount of takeout butt none the less dead inside. I asked to sit at the bar so could watch the game like I have done a 100-times before but was told I could not because they did not have a bartender.

What needs to be understood for anyone reading this is that they have not have a bartender for months now and this has never been a problem before, even if they are busy. The stupidty behind this if I sit in the dining room and order drinks like they wanted me to, where are they going to get the beers from? If they had let me sit at the bar as requested it would have actually made it easier for the server. All I can say was management dropped the ball big time. They took a loyal customer and made me question if I want to return.

Arrived in KC looking for good carry out for dinner. This place was close so I gave it a shot. Burnt ends were dry and practically inedible. They only gave me one tiny container of BBQ sauce which wasn't enough to help me swallow the dry meat. Sausage was ok/marginal. Fries were crispy. Way overpriced for the paltry portions swell. Too many other great places out there for me to go here again.

I was expecting exceptional BBQ being this close to KC, but there was nothing special about my food. The sliced chicken was dry and hard. The sauce was nothing special. Nothing tasted fresh. I ordered a pint of BBQ sauce with my meal, which I did not receive. Not worth the price, I've had better bbq from a grocery store back home.

Good food, most of our meal was what you would expect from a BBQ place. Kids menu had adequate options. The chicken breast was very tender and juicy. The pulled pork nachos were the best thing we ordered. Cocktails were well mixed. The cheesy corn was good, definitely has a cheese product taste instead of true cheese. Our server, Nate, was wonderful. Prompt and very friendly and helpful. Over all, good food, but not anything on the menu that would make want to come back regularly while traveling.

We ordered the burnt ends platter, sliced meat platter with 3 meats and the sweet corn nuggets. You got two sides with each platter so we ordered mac and cheese, Cole slaw, baked beans and cheesy corn. Everything was delicious. The brisket melted in my mouth. I couldn't get enough. I am not sure what type of sausage they used but I actually like it and I am not a sausage fan. The atmosphere was good and we loved the waitress. She was sweet. Will definitely be back. Sorry about the pics. We shared food and the picture was after we shared.

Food was great. Very busy. Had the chicken breast with pulled pork on the top. Substituted sweet potato fries that were delicious. The room itself felt pretty warm to the three of us but food was fantastic.

Family owned, family oriented, large bbq restaurant with a big menu. The sauce is smokey and tangy. Rich and bold. I like it. Get the sweet corn nuggets as an appetizer. The first bite will be peculiar, but they surprise you after the second. The baked beans are smokey sweet goodness, the burnt ends tender, but my fries came out cold. The portions are huge.

You definitely get your money's worth. Save room for dessert. The sunshine cake was fyre. Colorful, super moist, with great frosting and a nice lemon marmalade (?) on top.

I love KC BBQ. I love the smokey flavor of the meats here. Today I ordered the burnt end platter which had two types of burnt ends on it. The pork was rubbery and didn't have the char I like. The beef was dry. As soon as they sat my plate down I could tell my meat had been cut a long time earlier and it had dried out under a heat lamp. I had trouble chewing and it was like swallowing leather. Zoom in on the pic and see the dryness for yourself.

I did get to try some of the ribs from another person in our party of 10. The ribs were great! They were smoked to perfection but came short of falling off the bone. My wife ordered a burger this time and I've never seen the burgers here, but I have to say that next time I come back here I will be ordering a burger! I will never order burnt ends here again.

If you want great KC BBQ this is not really the place. But if you want a great burger you may enjoy this spot. We were there over the noon hour on a Sunday and the place was more than half empty. No wait at all. I believe we were the only table our waitress had but she still forgot to bring me water. Everyone else at the table got a drink, and 15 minutes later we were still asking for my water. She must have counted wrong from the start and got confused that I never got a glass to begin with. Stick with the higher rated BBQ spots for truly good KC BBQ.

Oh I found me some Corn nuggets. I got the sample plate appetizer and sample plate meats both were so good had no room left when my meal came out. Appetizer had onion rings, corn nuggets, cheesy cauliflower, and fried zucchini chips. The burnt ends brisket as a little dry and the beef ribs were also a little dry. All the meats had no real flavor aspect.

I had a side of spicy bbq sauce not sure if it was a good choice or not. The cheesy corn had ham I didn't know until it was stired up. White Mac and cheese was good also. Overall sides were better than meats but maybe that's just me. KC bbq is wet a little different than Texas bbq.

We liked it! This was our first time trying Smokehouse BBQ. We met local friends here tonight. What I really liked: - The place smelled like a BBQ joint - We asked to be moved to a non-family area and they were okay with it - Nick our waiter was great - Drinks and apps out fast - Beans had good flavor - Mac and Cheese has good flavor - Beef Short Rib had good flavor and was super tender - Baby Back Rib appetizer had great flavor and was super tender - Battered Mushrooms and Sweet Corn Nugget appetizers were good What could be improved: - Beans were not hot. Not really warm either. - Beef Burnt ends were dried out and chewy Next Time: - I'll likely get a rack of spare ribs to try them out.

Smokehouse Barbecue serves up some good food, but toes the line between barbecue and smoked meats. The menu isn't super fancy and focuses on the basics: ribs, beef, pork, ham and chicken, but also adds in some dishes that aren't exactly barbecue, but taste mighty good if they're smoked, such as steak, pork chops, shrimp, salmon and fish.

Same thing with the sandwiches, you have your choice of sliced meats and burnt ends, but you can also choose between a couple of smoked burgers or a chicken sandwhich if you'd like. I ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich which was topped with pepperjack cheese and grilled onions and served with a side of au jus. I asked for a loaded baked potato to round out the meal.

It was a little different than what I was used to, but I thought it was pretty good. The restaurant is a decent size and was busy when I stopped in, but I didn't have any issues. In fact my server was excellent. He was quick to greet me and gave me some good suggestions off of the menu. I'm glad he was there.
