We actually experienced the Cafe portion which is upstairs with outdoor sitting. The food was fantastic. The views were equally as great. Great experience. Highly recommend it.

Had a great time enjoying my dinner with an amazing view of the sunset. Jose is an amazing host! I appreciate the warm welcome and amazing hospitality. When I walked in without a reservation, Jose promptly got me a great table on the patio where I can appreciate the delightful view. Made me feel very special. Thanks Jose!

Came in today for lunch with a friend who has never dined at Rays before. The view was beautiful and service was good. We ordered a few items: spotted shrimp, curry clams, cup of chowder and the smoked scallop and bay shrimp salad. Everything was pretty tasty but we found the curry clams to be a tad too sweet. FYI- they don't offer curry clams on the menu (they have the traditional white wine, butter garlic sauce) but my friend asked if they were able to sub the white wine sauce for curry and they obliged). Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon but Rays Cafe is a solid 3 in my book.

Stopped in for lunch on a sunny afternoon. Such a beautiful location on the waterfront. We didn't have a reservation, but still got a great table in the bar area right away. We had the crab dip and calamari to start. Both were great! I had the fish sandwich which was a little underwhelming, but my friend had the sable fish and said it was amazing. Service was a little slow, but it was a busy afternoon and we were in no rush enjoying the view.

I had the crab cakes, which I usually do, and they were good. But the menu says the beans are "garlic and ginger rubbed, " and if they were it was undetectable. The "jasmine rice" was not jasmine, just plain old steamed white rice. Good service from waiter Dean on a very busy sunny weekday afternoon.

Can't rate this place high enough. The upstairs bar is great, the view for the sunset was amazing and the food surpassed them both. Was there for a friend's birthday, we had a great table, fantastic drinks and all the seafood ordered was fresh and some of the best I've had. Delicious.

We went for a cute anniversary dinner and it was good! I ordered the rockfish sandwich and he ordered the fish and chips and we had the oysters and the crab dip to share along with a bowl of clam chowder. I ordered the drink The Euro Trip and that was also nice. Light and slightly fruity. The clam chowder was good, the crab dip was super good, the oysters were good and I liked the little dip it came with. Elliot's oyster house had the best raw oysters in my opinion so far (I've only tried 2 raw oyster places mind you).

The fish and chips were good and the thickness and juiciness of the fish within the breading was great! The rockfish sandwich was alright. The salad it came with was a little small and difficult to eat cuz once you stick your fork in, it pushes the salad out. Overall it was a nice experience. Parking is a little tight. Busy place and nice view! We saw some kayakers as we ate. I could go here again but maybe try the Alaskan king salmon ^_^

Great dining view. Good food even thought it came out a little cold. Server was passive aggressive. Basically went for good dining scenery.

Finally had an opportunity to try out this institution of a restaurant, and it didn't disappoint. They've got the crucial factor nailed down: location! I'd been hanging out at golden gardens enjoying the sun, and figured on a sunday, with some waiting, our party of three would be able to get an outdoor patio seat easily enough. Sure enough, with some patience, we finally got in, just in time for the tail end of happy hour.

We shared the HH clams, some fresh oysters, bread and perfectly cooked and battered french fries. for the entree, i think our out-of-town guest picked the winner: the sablefish, which i know as black cod. it was moist and flavorful and had the perfect mix of smokey, sweet, tangy seasoning. so good. i had the scallops, which were also great. the gnocchi was i think the only vague let down at the table. not the best, but fine (that's what a vegetarian can expect ordering at a seafood spot, i guess). generous HH wine pours, which we appreciated, and the service was outstanding, as was the sunset. the infrared heater keeps you warm without being overbearing, and their plastic-sided enclosure is the perfect balance of outside and cozy. the best spot to get a little fancy while still dragging in a little sand in your shoes. thanks!

Went for Valentine's Day, and everything was fantastic! We made reservations so we were seated right away at a great window table. We had the Rose Apothecary cocktail that was well mixed. We had a lake salad that would make anybody like kale. It was tender as though it had been blanched with apple, cheese and champagne vinaigrette. We had a straight forward surf and turf, and everything in the plate was perfect down to the pan drippings.

The steak was tender, the prawns were like little lobster, the broccoli was tender and not mushy, and the mashed potatoes were a perfect texture. We opted for the chocolate raspberry mousse which was light and silky with a chocolate top shell supporting fresh raspberry, cream dollops, and lattice lace cookie garnish. Our server was on point start to finish. Ray's hosted a great Valentine's dinner.

Really great view of the water, and the spotted prawns from the daily special menu as well as the sablefish were delicious! However, the rest of our order was not quite as perfect consider the price we were paying. Though the flavor was good, but the fish in the cioppino was over cooked. The fries from the fish and chips had a nice crunchy texture, but the cod was a bit too dry.

The sauce from the vegetable curry was decent, but the vegetables seemed like they were from a can or a frozen package. Wish they were seasonal veggies instead. The vegetarian and none seafood choices were extremely limited, but it is a seafood house after all.

Picturesque restaurant right next to the water for a perfect view. It can get a little expensive so going during happy hour can be helpful. Their Bloody Mary, which isn't a part of the happy hour menu, was delicious. We asked for it to be super spicy, and our waiter Jason made sure it was well followed through. I also quite like the clam chowder, it was very flavorful and hearty.

Peaceful ambience. A nice place to hang out with families and friends. All servers are friendly and warming. The food is decent! I really recommend their special of sable fish, good on both cooking ways! We went for dinner so not much outside scene we could see.

The girl who brought our water had a dirty apron on.kinda gross. The fish dish and the crabs cakes were amazing! First time I've tried raw oysters.yea I'd do it again. The burger was small and underwhelming.

The views were absolutely stunning! I honestly would keep coming back here for the views alone if my wallet could manage it! Food wise, very fresh and local. Their menu is based on what is in season, which I truly appreciate. I would say very average in terms of the dishes themselves, but the freshness of it all truly allows this place to shine!

Ray's cafe is a great lunchtime spot! Much more relaxed than the boathouse, but still slightly dressy. The few times we've had to wait we've enjoyed watching the seals outside before sitting down to enjoy our favorite Manila clams and rockfish!

Beautiful location of a local favorite spot that has been serving the community for decades. Stunning views from outside on the deck or upstairs inside near the windows or outside by the water. Friendly & helpful staff. Go for lunch, happy hour, dinner or just drinks. Fun atmosphere & delicious food! Would definitely go back!

My friend and I came here for her birthday and we're super excited and the food was nothing exciting. The best thing on the menu was the steak, which was cooked to perfection. In addition to the steak being delicious, the entire plate was swimming in the sauce which can be an issue if you don't like your foods to touch. My friend and I shared our meals.

I ordered the grilled salmon and while it tasted fresh it was unseasoned. The bread served for the table was cold and we had to request for it to be warmed up. The best thing about this place was the view of the water; however, it was raining so we couldn't sit outdoors. The customer service was good, but for the price I expected better salmon. We also had the Cream Brule - which was kinda cold, but tasted good.

We love this restaurant! We like to go about an hour before sunset and sit near the window. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. (Sable and salmon) all the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. We will definitely be back when we are in town.

My partner and I took out my visiting brother and his wife here. We're all seafood and steak fans! All of our meals were fantastic and our entrees plated beautifully. Steak, halibut, salmon and chicken were seasoned great and of course the Drinks were flavorful and on point! Thank you Jack for checking up as needed, smiling with your eyes and giving a great customer experience. Jess closed us out with great conversations and jokes galore. Thank you all for a wonderful experience! Plus the view was spectacular!

There was about a forty minute wait for us to be seated. We strolled and hung out by the adjacent board dock. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. We sat on the deck outside on a beautiful day. I would recommend at least a light jacket even in the middle of August. The calamari was crispy and delightful. We enjoyed the flavorful ahi poke bowl.

Nice place with gorgeous views and good food! We were here for dinner and enjoyed our experience. The staff was amazing, and we even received a blanket since it can get a little chilly when seated outside. This is a good spot to go on a date, or to celebrate something with family.

Great view of the boats and water. Extremely helpful waitress and best of all was the halibut with roasted new potatoes with asparagus, roasted carrots and corn. Will be going back for lunch. They open up at 11 am when a lot of others open at 4 pm.

Everything was delicious and service was fantastic. I got the negroni, which didn't disappoint and scallops for dinner. The fried oysters and pork belly were delicious as was the octopus. The view at the water was breathtaking. Truly a wonderful date night place (it was our anniversary). Enjoy!

I love the History. I've definitely had better Halibut not too bad. Mussels were amazing though. The customer service I'd say was great as well. Being from out of town and right by the water I thought the fish would've been better. Maybe it was just the choice of food. Thanks to Peter for the customer service and way to go on making things around me make sense and where to go to have a nice stroll.

When we arrived, it was very busy but they were able to seat us immediately outside next to the water. The view was 10/10 and the food was just as amazing. By far my favorite restaurant and the service was great! Will for sure return sometime!

Came here when my parents were in town because we wanted to treat them to a super nice seafood dinner. Ray's did not disappoint! Service was super diligent, friendly and the staff were very knowledgeable about the dishes and the fish. Everyone enjoyed their meal, we went around 7pm and watching the sunset over the water was an extra special treat! Beautiful location and memorable dinner.

I can't rate the food, we just stopped in for a cocktail. The cocktail's were excellent including several Ray's specials like the barrel aged Negroni - so smooth, cold and just right! The barrel aging seemed to take Just a smidge off the edge of the Campari making my favorite cocktail slightly smoother and somehow a little more mellow - wow!

However good the bev's were the service was stellar! When a party of six shows up unexpected one might expect a somewhat surly reception. Not here! Hollie (sp?) at the reception desk was fun, actually seemed happy to see us and she found us a great table near the front windows. Our waitperson who's name we never got, I am sorry to say. But, she too was fun and actually seemed to be enjoying helping us choose from the cocktail menu! I can wholeheartedly recommend stopping by - say hi to Hollie for me.

We enjoyed a nice meal at Ray's but be prepared for a longgggg wait (ours was over 1.5 hours for inside). They take your number so you can go wait somewhere else which is nice, there's a beach close by. The food was pretty good but the view is really what makes it worth it. We had calamari to start which was good but a bit pricy for the quantity.

I had fish and chips which was fine but nothing special, the fish was a little dry and the breading was different, not a beer batter. The cole slaw was good and usually I don't like restaurant cole slaws. The smoked scallops are amazing and I highly recommend trying them! I finished with crime brulee which was good but the first spoon I used had a fish taste to it. My sister ordered a lemonade which she returned because it tasted super fake and powdery. Overall, you definitely go here for the view mostly, but food is decent.

Such a perfect place to have lunch on a sunny day. Especially when youre dining out on the patio with the waterfront view. For appetizer we ordered Crispy Calamari, Ray's Chowder, and the Dungeness crab dip. The crispy calamari with that lemon aioli was yummy. Rays chowder was kind of bland, i was expecting it to be good with all the reviews I saw.

The Dungeness crab dip was good but the portions of the dip was small. You also get a free side of bread and butter but kind of wish the bread was a lil warm or hot because it was cold and hard but maybe thats how they serve it i guess lol. I got the Sunset Sour cocktail which was good but really strong. Get it if youre into strong fruity cocktails.

Oh and btw we all had water but for some reason their cup had a strong metal scent to it. For the main entree i got the True Cod Fish & Chips. It came out very hot and crispy and so good.

We spent the afternoon tide-pooling at Golden Garden Park and swung by Ray's on the way home. We sat on the upper deck facing the water. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The halibut was a solid choice but the pan seared scallops were a table favorite. We would eat here again if in the area. Also, seals were fun to watch off the boardwalk. We didn't see a trash can on the way in so we had cups of juice from the cafe at the park and the host acted like we were trying to take in outside drinks.

A simple, "Oh, can I take those for you?" Instead of a policy lecture would have been better. Oh, to have the power of seating. Pro-tip: Ignore pretentious older teens working the door. Life is short.

Tonight was my first ever visit to Ray's. It definitely lives up to the hype! The cafe is upscale food in a casual environment. I came in with a party of three and we all loved our food. The appetizers came out lightening fast! We shared the crispy calamari and the tuna poke. Both were very good (especially the dressing on the poke). Our server, Jason M., was a star.

He suggested the Sablefish for my mom and OMG it was amazing! I wish I had ordered it myself. I had the blackened rockfish sandwich. It was pretty tasty but needed lettuce (just my opinion) and the fries weren't that crispy. Our server fixed it right away with a fresh batch of crispy fries and a side of lettuce. Thank you! Cocktails were perfection. I wish I lived closer so I could come back and try all the house cocktails.they look super yummy.

I enjoyed Ray's on a chilly and wet November day. Lunch was very pleasant, if not a bit touristy. Service was warm and certainly passionate about oysters. Fish all tasted fresh and good. The table had mixed opinions about Ray's Clam Chowder, several claiming it was bland with little clam flavor. I liked it. "Different strokes for different folks." Perhaps unfairly, I have an inclination to compare Ray's to Chinooks at Fisherman's Terminal.

The view is better at Ray's, but the food is a very close call. My wife favors Chinook's, while I may favor Ray's by a thin hair. Whichever you choose, you can take visitors to both with great confidence. They represent Seattle well.

One year later and Ray's is still my go to places to bring Seattle visitors. These days, dining out can look different but at Ray's Cafe, we had a wonderful experience. We felt safe and welcome. The Crab Risotto, Calamari and Chowder are all to die for! Highly recommend!

Ray's is so special to me. I had my wedding reception here and will forever have a connection to this wonderful restaurant. The freshest seafood, best views, and service are consistent. When it comes to fine dining, Ray's does it best! My favorites are seafood salad, catch of the day, king crab legs, clam chowder and the cocktails are GREAT! COVID UPDATE- staff adhere to strict cleaning protocols. Tables are distanced by more than 6 feet. Reservations are not taken at this time walk-in only.

Always a good time here. Different dining experience each time. Always pleasantly surprised to see what happens out on the water. The food and service here are always top notch as well : Today I dined upstairs out on the deck, due to COVID restrictions downstairs was closed completely. But super glad dining in is open here.

Yay for Ray and his cafe! I've only been here about a dozen times in the past decade, but last Monday's visit was the sweetest one of all! It was my first time venturing out to a restaurant during the pandemic, and I really felt safe here, probably because I was sitting outside. Plenty of outdoor space for spreading out awaits, and everything was perfectly clean and nickel-chrome tidy.

Three of us celebrated the end of the school year with cold brews, Caesar salads, and the most delicious deep-fried squid. Party, party! How wonderful it was to spend an hour in the sun and to pretend (for just a bit) that everything in the world was exactly as it should be. Go to Rays. Sit on the deck. Eat. Drink. Breathe in fresh air and stare at the view. You'll see that life can be beautiful again.
