I had to sign with Putting on the Ritz as the caterer for my event and due to a death in my family and the weariness around COVID had to cancel the event. Bobby Mitchell was extremely insensitive and insisted there was no reason for me to need to cancel the event and was strangely against the idea that COVID is an issue at all. He also said there was no chance they would get re-booked for our date because it was only over a month away.
I spoke with the hall vendor and was told Putting on the Ritz was re-booked for the date we originally had, meaning we should have gotten our deposit back. Bobby's response to me asking if they were booked was "please stop." This was extremely unprofessional and he does not know how to communicate with clients. I was considering using them once we were able to have our wedding, but I will go anywhere but Putting on the Ritz.
This was a difficult decision for my fiance and I, as we did not want to have to move our wedding after paying so many deposits. We did not really have a choice and for a vendor to be so insensitive and plain out rude when asked if we can get our deposits back (because we were literally told they got re-booked), is unacceptable.

Absolutely recommend Putting on The Ritz! I am a wedding planner/coordinator (DMV weddings and events) and I think they have been the easiest caterer to work with in my 4 years of doing this job. Their staff is quick, personable and knowledgeable. On top of all of that (which I don't think people realize how absolutely important it is for the staff to be great!) their food was completely delicious! Their team leaders are absolutely a joy to work with and they are on the top of my list for catering recommendations from now on!

I highly recommend POTR for your wedding catering. Neil and his team were a breeze to work with. They were very flexible and responsive. The food was excellent and our guests were delighted! Oh. and you have to try their Tropical Jerk chicken with mango salsa! It was a hit with our guests to the point where one guest in the kitchen to find out if there was more left! : I highly, highly recommend them!

Hello! 3 years ago today Putting on the Ritz catered my wedding reception at the Franciscan Monastery in DC. They did an absolute phenomenal job. The food was amazing. I still have guests comment to me about the food, and how it was the best food at a wedding they've had. We did a buffet style dinner and from the decor to the food, it was just immaculate.
They staff was super accommodating and thoughtful. We did a wine and beer bar and they managed to get us the local dogfish head craft beer we asked for! That was such a huge surprise for us! They also set up our dining and decor which included linens and dining ware and it looked beautiful. I would highly recommend this caterer for your wedding. The quality we received for the price they offered was unbeatable.
And believe me I did my research. We had 170 guests and the food, alcohol, and decor was incredibly affordable. With the package we selected it came out to be around $10k for 170 guests! We couldn't have been more happy on our wedding day and we deeply cherish the memories that Putting on the Ritz was highly responsible for. So thank you to Putting on the Ritz!

We had a wedding celebration at ten oaks ballroom catered by Putting on the Ritz. Putting on the Ritz did an excellent job preparing a meal that many visitors said was excellent. The staff was attentive and caring. The lady managing the affair was easy for me to reach and deal with for the needs of the guests. All in all it was an excellent celebration, and not all that expensive.
