Poe's Catering was founded in the late 1990's as an alternative to the typical catering at the time. Poe's believed that catered food should have the taste and feelings associated with homecooked comfort food at scale. Lance Poe started the business at his house and has grown from there to a full commercial kitchen and large reception hall. Poe's catering is happy to be locally owned and support other local businesses in and around Springfield.

Located just outside of Sherman Illinois is our over 5000 square foot venue that is perfect for all your needs. Separated into distinct spaces we can accommodate any of your catering needs. The large room can accommodate three hundred people for large parties, anniversaries, or weddings. The smaller room can hold up to one hundred people or be separated into smaller spaces for team meetings, smaller birthday parties, or any of your space needs.

This ridiculous venue won't give a grown adult a cup of ice because they think it will be used for outside alcohol. It's ridiculous. They gave me a Diet Coke. Do they really think someone can't pour alcohol into that? Controlling over earnest staff.

HIGHLY recommend! We had our wedding reception here and it was the absolute perfect day. Very reasonably priced, wonderful venue, easy to work with, out of this world food! I could go on and on. The Poe's are wonderful to work with (we were out of state during the planning process and they made it so easy on us). We got so many compliments on the venue and the food!

This is a nice place to have a wedding and reception. It's all inclusive if you set it up that way. There is plenty of parking and catering is a must with this family business.

We just hosted our son's wedding at Poe's. This place is a rare gem! If you are thinking of planning any event, you must check them out. The food was outstanding! We had the stuffed mushrooms and the bacon wrapped sausage and fruit for appetizers and the Caesar salad, Texas Potato Casserole, Loaded Mashed Potatoes, California Medley Blend Vegetables, Corned, Smoked Beef Briscuit, Cavatappi with Chicken.

It was all so yummy! Everyone was commenting on how good the food was! They were so amazing and took care of every detail for us! We could not have asked for anything better!
