An excellent banquet/event facility in the Seymour, Indiana area. We were there for the dinner theatre presented annually by the Jackson County Community Theatre. An amazing buffet dinner is served by the staff of The Pines restaurant and then a fully staged professional quality musical show follows. This is an annual event in February that normally runs two weekends and nearly always sells out.

Nice show, only wish the restaurant was open, used to love the Madison restuarant, but they closed on me, so sad

We eat at The Pines, after church, 3-4 times a month. Always enjoy the meal and the people.

My husband and I stopped in on a Wednesday night. We were from out of town and had attended a funeral service near by. We were told it was a good place to eat. We were blown away! There was hardly anyone there, so it kind of worried me, when we drove up. When we walked in, I could see how clean it was. We were greeted and seated immediately. The food was fresh looking and plentiful!

My husband said the fried chicken was in the top 3 best he's had, and he's from Amish country! The were several choices of salads, vegetables, meats, including fish and desserts! YUM! I enjoyed everything I chose. We will be back! We may even do a road trip to eat there again. Oh! I forgot to tell you, we got a 20% Senior discount off the incredibly inexpensive bill! Seymour Indiana should be proud!

My husband and I love this place on a Friday night! Never a line always get right in and hot fresh food! He loves their Friday night BBQ. There is not a huge selection for the price but you definitely get tastey food. There is also one waiter there that we really like too because he is very attentive and seems to always remember us. Good place to eat around here!

I attend a banquet here every October. The Pines always meets our needs and bends over backwards to make our event a pleasant experience.

Wanted to try this place for a while came on a Wednesday place was not too busy. I'm not sure what some of these people are expecting from a buffet that's $11. In any case I'll take this place over a Ryan's or Golden Corral or similar. The atmosphere was laidback and the food was really good. The fried chicken was some of the best I've had, the roast beef was good.

All the deserts looked really good I highly recommend the cheesecake with nuts on it not sure what kind it was but it's really good. I'm going to come back for prime rib night or bbq on the weekend soon.

The Pines is a quintessential Hoosier establishment. Every kid in the area has memories of coming here (or to the sister restaurant in Madison) for special Sunday lunches after church. It's not gourmet but it's good, honest food like roast beef, ham, fried chicken, fried fish, greens, mashed potatoes and the like. There is a small salad bar as well as a dessert bar and, my kid's favorite, a soft serve machine.

The service is just like southern Indiana: friendly, cheerful and polite. Good fresh brewed Iced Tea, generous with refills. The price is fair and the restaurant is easily accessible off of Highway 31.

Went to The Pines for a family function and I've been there many times in the past. Always great food, courteous staff, and delicious food selections. If you like great home style food, The Pines is the place to go.

Buffet style restaurant had several weird soggy salads, brownish coleslaw, soggy fried chicken, well done roast beef and a super sweet chocolate pecan pie. No thanks. Service was cheerful and polite though hence the extra star.

I stopped at this restaurant while passing through on the interstate. The establishment had questionable reviews but I decided to give it a try anyway. The building on the outside looked kind of like a storage shed but the inside was clad in old pictures and memorabilia. The restaurant appeared very clean and the staff was very friendly. Most importantly the food was outstanding. I will definitely be stopping here on my next trip through.

I ate at this establishment, having already heard bad reviews. Unfortunately the reviews proved true. While the restaurant is fairly clean the decor is dated. Overall the buffet is divided into three sections: salad bar, hot dinner, dessert. The salad bar had brownish lettuce that was obviously from a bag mix with no dark green leaves at all and the hard boiled eggs were frozen.

The other half of the salad bar held numerous gelatinous and mayonnaise laced salads that I found unappealing. The hot bar had many choices which were somewhat better. Among the choices were mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and all manner of fried and roasted meats. The dessert selections I found sickly sweet and in-edible. A friend tried a cookie and said it tasted mostly of flour. The most disappointing part if the visit was the price. $15.99 per person!
