We had some credit on account with Nancy at Love & Garlic due to a Covid event cancellation. So we decided to use her for our Thanksgiving meal. We had 20 ppl including kids and ordered 3 of her Thanksgiving meal set which each included a 10 lbs Turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, gravy & cranberry citrus sauce. We additionally ordered green beans, mac & cheese and a sliced sweet potato gratin type dish.

First of all, everything was DELICIOUS! Like really delicious. In the past, I was always in charge of the turkey & took great pride in it. This turkey was the best I've ever had anywhere. Moist, flavorful, perfectly cooked. Everything comes cold the night before but with excellent reheating directions. We also got a grazing charcuterie board which was as beautiful to look at as it was delicious. We're ordering Thanksgiving from her from now on. Fabulous!

I engaged Nancy to cater -- and totally arrange -- a party for 60 at the San Joaquin River Parkway. I'm from Alabama, and I asked Nancy to handle everything. And she did. Perfectly. She coordinated with the venue, with the bar, arranged all the rentals and guided in me in every way. I had total trust in her, and she far exceeded all my expectations.

And the food! Beautiful, delicious, artfully presented and inventive. We had the "Early California" menu with carnitas, tamales, grapefruit and avocado salad, carne asada with chimmichurri, black beans and sheshido peppers with sweet potatoes. Everything was FABULOUS. All the guests raved. It was the most fun event I've ever hosted. Five stars are not enough for Love and Garlic!

I'm from the area but currently live in Texas. My wedding will be in the Fresno area and that being said my mom has been helping me tremendously in planning my wedding. My mother had tasted their food at a family friends wedding and she really enjoyed the food. She kept them in mind since she knew I was getting married pretty soon. My mother had been in contact with them for a few months about catering for my wedding, but nothing could be set in stone until I tasted their food which wouldn't be until I could fly out in June, which was fine with them since nobody had booked with them.

So in June, I tasted the food with my mother, my future mother in law (whom only speaks Spanish), and my little sister. The food was execellent but I did decide I wanted to go with just appetizers. Ok, great! Or so we thought. They did email the numbers for the appetizers but we did need to do some number adjusting on our end. Next thing I know, my mother gets a phone call from them saying that they had ended up booking some other wedding, the same date as mine, that is going to be out of town and had chosen a lot more than just appetizers and that because they had put their deposit down first, they couldn't do my wedding any more!

Well thanks! It would have been nice to have been given the common courtesy to know that another party had been looking at the same date as me. We had already told other caterers no because we were going to book with Love and Garlic. Not to mention I had to wait to fly out to California and taste the food for myself to make any type of decision! Everybody else had given us the courtesy of letting us know if they were talking to another party for the same date as my wedding.

We were really looking forward to enjoying their food on my wedding, but that went down the drain. I really do think they went with the other party without letting us know before hand because that meant a bigger check for them. I know business is business and everybody wants to make their money but a major key in business is building relationships!

I would think they would know better for a business that has been in the industry for so long. But anyways, they left a bitter taste in my mouth after my experience. And you can bet that we won't bother using them for my future sister in laws wedding next year, since her wedding will be small and the check won't be big enough for them! So you better make sure you have your check books out and ready if you decide to go with them other wise it's on to the next for them! 2 stars for the great food and presentation, but very poor business moral and communication skills.

I absolutely love their food, Nancy and her staff are very professional and go over and above. She has a great talent in design and her catering. She has been wonderful for recipes. I love to order the pumpkin raviolis and her Easter pie. not to mention their Torta rustica, shepherds pie and the grilled vegetable. Keep up the good work Nancy.

I should have read reviews before contacting this company. Went back and forth via emails 3 months before my wedding, Nanette seemed really responsive, or so I thought. 2 months before my wedding, I ask her for a quote and was promised one by the following week. Radio silence. I called the next day to follow up and was assured the quote was being sent later in the afternoon, that same day. Again, nothing.

I did receive a voicemail the next day saying internet service was down and someone was repairing it at the moment. That was the last I heard, and that was 3 weeks ago! This catering company is not dependable. As a bride who has the time or energy to chase down your vendors? That is a big red flag for any bride or groom planning their wedding because food is such a huge detail of any wedding! Don't waste your time or money. Unprofessional. Hopefully they now have high speed internet to read my review as well as the others on how awful they run their business!

I decided to have my birthday on a Saturday night and was told by six restaurants that they would only allow us to be there for an hour and a half. No way! I called Love and Garlic and after discussing my plans with them booked my 70th birthday dinner. We had drinks and wonderful appetizers. I decided to have the beef filet meal. The presentation was exquisite and the food was delicious.

I was so impressed with Nancy because she came to my house to see the lay out and then stayed over two hours the night of the party. It was so nice having them prepare, serve, and clean up. The chef, server, and Nancy were very professional and my family and friends were very impressed.

I started contacting the business by e-mail and I had to constantly e-mail them back asking for a reply. 2-3 weeks would go by every time. Finally Nancy schedules an appointment for us. OH MY GOD if I knew what we were getting ourselves into we would have left. I'm sorry to stay but I strongly believe Nancy was on drugs during our "consultation".

My fiance and I couldn't get out of there fast enough! So she was LATE and after she finally showed up she shooed us to our seats. Didn't shake our hands or introduce herself. Then it went total downhill and at one point I just wanted to say "Screw this there is no way I am letting you come near my wedding!" but I didn't I kept MY COOL.

So we get sat down she doesn't have anything prepared, is talking 500 miles a minute SO LOUD she was basically yelling. She had A MILLION pictures everywhere all over her desk she kept shuffling around and throwing at us. We never got to talk about what we actual wanted she just kept talking and talking and talking. We actually also never received a quote back!

She told us "why don't you call us in 3 months when our boss is broke and gives cheaper prices." SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY! These reviews on Nancy are so accurate and not something any bride would want to deal with.

We have used Love and Garlic for several occasions, both for business and personal events. They are FANTASTIC! The best in town without a doubt. Our guests and clients are always very impressed. The food is so delicious and is always presented with such beauty and creativity. as they say, we eat with our eyes first. Nancy is so passionate about food and it shows in everything she does, all done with love and attention to detail and she will guide you well for all your needs. I highly recommend Love and Garlic for scrumptious food and a first class event. Top notch!

Nancy and her crew are absolutely amazing! My September 10th wedding was catered by Love and Garlic and I have had more compliments on our food than anything else. They were absolutely wonderful to work with! Nancy and her staff attended 2 of our walk throughs, brought us snacks each time, assisted our coordinator, communicated with us on each and every decision and allowed me to call and make changes over and over during the craziness.

They are kind and 100% professional. Beyond everything else the food was absolutely amazing, they will be our families go-to work catering. Nancy truly knows her business. Thank you all so much!

Love and Garlic was the best catering service I have ever used. Nancy did my wedding a little over 2 years ago, and did an outstanding job! That's an understatement. I got so many compliments months after the wedding with people saying how much they "loved the food" at my wedding. The display they put out with the food was such a beautiful sight to see, and she made sure it matched the theme of my wedding. Nancy and her assistant were extremely helpful and accommodating.

I loved that I got to do a taste testing of the food, and even bring home the leftovers. You can tell that Nancy has such a passion for food and people- she makes you feel like family. I cannot say enough good things about Love and Garlic, the food was awesome, and the service was awesome! I give my highest recommendation to go with Love and Garlic if you are looking for great quality food and service.

Contacted the business by phone, spoke to Jen, got a minimal response and after trying two more times to get my questions answered and receive a quote for my event - decided that poor communication will amount to poor service. Thanks but no thanks!

Amazing, creative, helpful! We just completed a large holiday event using Nancy and her staff. It was beyond beautiful. Perfect for a womens event too. The food and staging were incredible, and everyone loved it. Additionally, Nancy went out of her way to help with staging the hardscapes of our event- that helped to make the overall evening an even better experience for everyone. We will definitely use her again! She worked within our budget and gave us creative options within our guidelines as well. Staff was friendly, on time, and professional.

Nancy recently catered a wedding at our home, and it was a rather ambitious affair. This was not problem for this high energy woman. Menu selections were not constrained and she was very thorough in the planning process. Their set-up was very professional and the cleanup very efficient. As for the food and delivery (we had mostly plated dishes) I have not seen or tasted better. This is real gem and I recommend them, but be prepared for a whirlwind of a woman, then sit back and enjoy while they do the work!

Nancy was nice the first time we met her and the sample tasting were good. The day of the wedding, nancy didn't show up and her staff were unpleasant. Her staff were very unprofessional and to say the least, disrespectful. Nonetheless, the food was nothing close to what the tasting was. Very unimpressed! Avoid her at all cost! Save your time and money.

We also had a very bad experience with Nancy. Her assistant at the time was quite friendly and helpful, she explained the menus and the pricing and we were so excited about it, we signed the contract and left a deposit. We found out a few days later that the original "estimate" was not an actual quote.the quote was emailed to us and included an additional $1600 of "fees".kitchen fees, miscellaneous fees, etc that were never mentioned when we explicitly asked in our consultation.

Since we still had about 8 months until our wedding, upon receiving the "quote" we immediately decided that we didn't want to work with someone who was not upfront about their service from the start and asked for our deposit back. Nancy refused to refund our deposit until we filed a small claims lawsuit against her since she had breached her end of the contract.a few weeks after we filed, we received a check in the mail. I would avoid Nancy and her business unless you want to add stress to your event.

Nancy and her team seemed great over email. They promised us a great mix of local and Mediterranean food for a small family wedding. To be fair, the menus at Love and Garlic are mouthwatering. Nancy signed us up for a very nice menu. We should have pulled out at our first meeting. Nancy had promised samples of food, and did not provide more than a few cream cheese spreads.hardly what she had promised both my mother or myself. Unfortunately, on the evening of our event, the delivery was almost an hour late and the staff member from Love and Garlic was very unfriendly.

She didn't apologize or check in before leaving to see if we were all set. I understand schedules change, but menus should not. Yes, the menu we agreed upon and paid for was not served. The chicken fig pinwheels were dry and underwhelming. A major disappointment. If that were not enough, Nancy has offered me no explanation for the error.

I scheduled an appointment based on some reviews from friends to talk to Love and Garlic about catering for our wedding. Nancy was almost a half hour late for the appointment, so we just sat and waited. There were poorly assembled binders of photos of food that we flipped through while we waited, but nothing that really helped us. Once Nancy arrived, she started interviewing us about our wedding.

She NEVER asked us what kind of food we wanted, or how much we wanted to spend- she spent the entire hour asking us about the schedule of the wedding events, and giving us (unsolicited) advice about how the wedding should go. We had to cut her short because we had another appointment (I thought two hours would be enough time), so we left without ANY information about the menus or pricing.

It was confusing and frustrating. Nancy was nice, and she was good at responding to my emails, but other than that, her service left plenty to be desired. It's too bad, because I heard the food is really good.

Just went to a 50th b-day party at Love and Garlic at Diana Court. Native Fresnans have probably heard of this well known caterer, Nancy Vajretti. I've been fortunate to feast from her spreads on numerous occasions. The food is always tasty, fresh, fun and visually pleasing. The function last night had three food stations; a chicken fajita table w/ corn and flour tortillas, black beans, and salsa; a chicken kabob station w/ pilaf and grilled vegetables; and my favorite, a street vendor cart stocked with hand-formed mini hamburgers and french fries. Delish!
