Haagenson Catering & BBQ Established in 2001, Ribslayer is known for its flavorful foods and friendly staff. This little diner is what many would call "A Great Little Hole In The Wall" and we wear that badge with pride. We slow-smoke our BBQ - up to eight hours - over choice woods, like oak, cherry, and apple, for an exceptional taste. We hit the meat with just-right seasoning and let it go to work, then keep the fire low and let the savory soak in. Mmmm. Only then can that one-a-kind flavor emerge from deep inside. You'll taste the difference, in bite after succulent bite.

Heard great things about this place. They have several accolades for BBQ. There was a line out the door when we got there. Had to use my phone to look up a menu as there was none to be had, nor on a wall anywhere. They did have a special that was on the wall. A meltdown sandwich, which is a grilled cheese on sourdough bread with brisket and jalapeno poppers cream cheese spread with chips and a pickle.

We also got a couple of poppers wrapped in bacon. Poppers were only half pepper, and we're very squishy and cold. The sandwich was ok I guess, just wish it had more than.50 worth of "brisket" on it. Definitely not worth 14 dollars plus 2 for a popper. Not sure if it was an off day; or if they're just ridding off their reputation. Had to go get lunch after we left because I was still hungry.

In short. Overpriced, underwhelmed. Update. No big surprise that the owner had a snotty response to the review. I only speak what I see, taste, hear, and what else may be pertaining to the visit. I'm professionally trained and know good food when I taste it. I was as generous as I could be with the product provided. If you don't care for my review; perhaps try harder. Next time I'll just give the food bank my whole food total instead of coming back. And people whom love what they do don't burn out. Sincerely, expert reviewer.

These folks make the best BBQ food on the planet but it is kind of hard to do business with them. Currently they have take out and we have enjoyed their wonderful food at catered events in wineries. If you love BBQ food and are willing to take it home or eat it in your car, then you have a good place to do business. Yummy food.

Read all the reviews and decided to stop in for a mid-afternoon lunch. We were not disappointed. We split a combo plate. Plenty of food to share and with a soda it was only $20. Pulled pork was excellent, great corn bread and fantastic homemade pickled red onions! It's a hole in the wall type place with few seats (they seem to do a lot of take out and catering), but well worth your time.

Not great. Had brisket, pulled pork plus coleslaw and potatoe salad. Brisket was awful, what wasn't fat was very tough. Pulled pork was greasy. Sides were ok, corn bread was good.

Stopped in by chance to see what it was the owner was a great. 1st time we have come the area from Salem and got beef ribs to go. Full rack wasn't cheap but worth it. Yes 5 stars because beef ribs are meaty and done up right. The rub is fantastic and sauce it good too. I can eat these ribs without sauce but enjoyed the sauce. Ribs still warm when we got home to Salem area! People please get some ribs here! Love taking care of awesome small business people and this is 5 stars! Enjoyed the coleslaw too.

Easily one of the best BBQ joints around. Not around Oregon. Around. I've had BBQ in the deep south and this ranks among the best. Brisket that MELTS. Homemade potato salad that can rivial the midwest potato salad queens. Couple that with amazingly friendly service and Ribslayer is the perfect experience.

The staff are so awesome and welcoming but the jalapeno popper brisket sandwich could have been better.

Our family came to McMinnville for the weekend and decided to get food from Ribslayer for dinner. We got 2 of the Carnivore Platers and all the sides with cornbread since there was 8 of us. It was all very good! We even used the leftovers for breakfast the next morning making a hash with the meat and roasted potatoes and adding over easy eggs on top! Definitely recommend if your wanting BBQ and supporting a small local business.

Ribs smacked and so did the pull pork sandwich. Shelby is the best hostess I ever met. Restaurant was slammed and Shelby handled it like an absolute beast. 1000/10 for food & service. Go Shelby!

Disappointment is the only way I can describe the meals we ordered. After reading reviews I expected something better, guess I should have sorted by lowest to highest rated. The meats were extremely dry, overcooked, flavorless, and the only thing that was decent was the poppers. We threw away 90% of our $40+ order.

Will never go here again, which is sad but their customer service is HORRIBLE! My husband and I walked in an hour before they closed, and we were wanting to make an order to go. We tried calling beforehand but it was constantly busy, so we walked in thinking that there were a lot of orders, but nope, no one was in there. We waited in their little waiting area for awhile and not a single employee said "I'll be right there or give a me a second and I'll come help you" no communication.

A lady comes out of the back asking if we have an order, we say no, we would lik-e and was cut off and she asked the ppl behind us if they had an order, they said no they wanna place one too. She just left into the back, without saying a word. We could see her and the other person in the back just ignoring all of us. My husband and I left, and we haven't been back. This happened in about June of 2021.

Good portion size and meat needs the sauce to enhance the tasty buds! Beer served in a frosty cold mug / glassware. Only take out now, but a large picnic table outside. Pit master keep on smoking!

Worst food I have had in a long time. I travel a lot for my job so I eat out quite often. Always look for BBQ places. This place should not call itself a BBQ restaurant. No smoke flavor in the brisket but plenty of grizzle. Dry tasteless burnt ends. My two favorites. The meat was old and re-heated with to much terrible sauce. Should never put sauce on good BBQ unless you ask for it or put on yourself. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Get a Mac-rib sandwich from Mcd's and it will be better.

Best BBQ joint in town that I've tried! They know how to make fine tasting chicken! I recommend this to any southern and non-southern searchers of BBQ

The brisket was very juicy and tender. The pulled pork had good flavor but slightly dry. The baby back ribs had good flavor but a little tough. They need to remove the silver skin off the ribs before smoking and they wouldn't be as tough. The bbq sauce was overly acidic could use a little brown sugar to sweeten it up. The Mac and cheese was really good but the potato salad was a little dry. The Thai salad was spicier than I was anticipating and my husband thought there were too many peanuts. The cornbread was wonderful. Light and moist.

Tiny little restaurant with limited seating but the food is great! We went just before closing so we got lucky and had the entire place to ourselves. The BBQ was just what we were hoping for! Loved the pulled pork and brisket. All their sauces were tasty! Defiantly recommend this place if you're in Mcminville!

Tiny hole in the wall BBQ place we randomly stumbled upon because we read a sign to follow our noses to BBQ. I am so glad we did! The sandwich we got was amazing and I really wish I had more now. Quick and helpful service. The place got really busy after we arrived and the people at the counter were helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Hands down 5 STAR Quality. Top Quality food and top quality people. Sure it's off the beaten path but it's the age of google maps so it's easy to find. The other way to find it is to follow the Smokey aroma that fills the air and you'll see the humongous smoker in front of the entry door. Jeremy was at the grill and he was super cool. Told us about the behemoth of a smoker / grill and welcomed us in.

The menu has all the BBQ staples in a easy to navigate overhead menu. And the prices were crazy decent. We ordered 3 orders of the 2 plate combos and 2 orders of the sliders. WOW the plate was big and had more meat than they would ever serve in CA. It also came with a side of beans which were awesome but you can choose cole slaw or mash potatoes. I got the brisket and chicken.

It came with 3 huge folded over slices of tasty brisket and a quarter of a chicken. The smoke ring was gorgeous and I was knocked out by the taste. Ribslayer is better than any place in CA. It was THAT GOOD and I wasn't that hungry when I came in. Everybody in our party was full and satisfied after Ribslayer. The best part was my daughter dropped her slider on the ground on accident. Jeremy came right out and got her a new one out in a jiffy. Ribslayer is a must go. You must go no matter what. Live close by, wine tasting or visiting from outta town. GO TO RIBSLAYER. You will be 100% satisfied.

A small little bbq joint deep in the heart of wine country, how good could it be? Answer: very. The brisket is tender and smoked to perfection, both sandwiches we had (mine brisket and cheese, my husband had one with corned beef) were remarkable! Great service and fabulous sauce choices left us full to the brim. Only non recommendation are the beans, they weren't the bees knees.

As a first-timer there I ask somebody on the way in if it was any good, they said it was incredible and they we're spot on! I tried the ribs and the BBQ brisket. OMG! I am a baby back pork rib lover and have a favorite styling place for that. But that brisket was mouth-watering over-the-top delicious! I can't wait to have it again! I got a chance to talk to the owner and he was personable and friendly. It's a tiny little shop but you've got to go check it out. Is barbecuer is impressive.

Amazingly delicious BBQ! This is not an obvious place to find. The entrance is not on the main street but, rather, down an alley. There is a small sign at the alley entrance that can help you find your way but the easiest thing to do is just follow your nose. You'll know you're almost there when you see their gigantic smoker. Inside, the place is tiny.

Just 3 or 4 tables and a counter plus a table outside. Most folks come and grab their food to go. We decided to eat there and sat at the counter. I ordered the meat plate - two meats, a choice of one side, a pickle plus a bag of chips. I chose brisket and pulled pork for my meat. About ten minutes later my plate was delivered. The amount of meat was astonishing for the price.

The mountain of pulled pork was so tender, smokey and delicious. The brisket was also tender, flavorful and smokey. Both brisket and pork were moist - nothing dry here! I eventually wanted to try their homemade BBQ sauce (even though the meat was perfect without) and.zowie! It is fantastic! Slightly sweet with a bit of tang to it. From that point on I alternated bites with and without the sauce. So good! Oh, my side of potato salad was.well, who cares? Potato salad, chips, pickle.all good. An excellent bargain for superb barbecue.

Tucked away off the beaten path off 3rd street in McMinnville, one block south on 2nd, and the backside of a large brick building you see a bright yellow entry to Ribslayer BBQ. Tucked within a small parking lot one would easily miss it, even when looking for it. Most of the time your nose can be your guide because of the large smoker bursting at the seams. Calling ahead is the best option or there may be quite a wait if you think you may be in and out for a order pickup on a busy lunch hour.

The space is quite small with a few bar stools and couple tables. The line can be out the door. My husband and I travel quite a bit and Ribslayer is one of the must go and eat places when visiting. It is a 50 mile round trip for us but stop when we are in town. The staff is always friendly even when slammed during lunch. One day, after placing my order, I observed the line out the door within 5 minutes.

With only 2 staff on hand they did the best they could and I did not hear any customer complains during the time I waited for my order. Actually I hear people laughing because it was so cozy with all those people. I wanted to help them.ok, I cleared of a table. It's just what you do in a small town. Now for the menu. Best Spareribs. Best Pulled Pork, but my favorite are the Burnt Ends.

When I order to-go, I admit my husband rarely gets burnt ends by the time I drive the 25 miles home. We usually do not get sides nor the sauces. The BBQ sauce is not overpowering and the meat is always moist and tender. But I don't want to cover up that natural smoke flavor. We go there for the MEAT!
