Great Wall Restaurant

The food was great. I was expecting the typical strip mall Chinese restaurant. It was NOT the typical. Very classy restaurant with awesome food. We had Eggplant and shrimp fried rice and egg rolls and scallion pancakes. Nest home made egg roles I have ever had

By far, the best quality Chinese food. The place is immaculate and the ambiance is soft and cozy. The bar area has 2 nice tvs for viewing. Prefer not doing buffet at this point in time but have had it before and it is very good. Their presentation is great and I would recommend this place highly to anyone.

Got the buffet, was ok at best for $26! The waiter said I don't tip! I sat myself got my own food n had to go to them to pay! He provided absolutely nothing, and was rude! Brought this to the owner, and just forget it! I should be tipping the drive thru at McDonald's at least they take my order, are polite, n hand me my food! Horrible experience!

Consistently very good food. I've been enjoying The Great Wall for almost three decades now and an happy to say the food quality is still quite impressive. Try the buffet for a good sampling of their culinary skills.

The only reason I did not give a 4 star is because of the waitstaff, the whole time I was there I felt slightly and unwanted, maybe it was because of the time or something but it seemed as if I was not wanted. THE FOOD WAS GREAT THOUGH. Very authentic and brang me joy

It saddens me to write this review because this has been my go to for a few years now. The quality of food is steadily deteriorating. The fried rice was crunchy and other food was not worth the calories. The buffet is ok, but a la carte/take out not so much. I called to let them know and they didn't even apologize. She just said "ok". How sad.

My friend & I wanted a Chinese Buffet it's been a couple years because of the pandemic. I found this restaurant on the web but it only had 3 stars so I was skeptical. I'm really happy that we went! First off it was extremely clean and a man was constantly at the buffet table cleaning & filling it. The service was just attentive enough! The buffet was a great price as well!

The food was moist and excellent! Their menu is huge and I want to go back for Lobster w Ginger & scallion! Thank you Great Wall we were very happy! IM HERE AGAIN! The buffet is EXCELLENT! I don't understand why it's rated 3.9!?!?! EXCELLENT! The price is also excellent! Try the lunch buffet it's fantastic!

The Great Wall is a standard American style Chinese Restaurant. It is know for its buffet which is $14.95 for lunch. I'm not a huge buffet guy since I'm not the biggest water. The food on the buffet is fresh and brought out in small quantities to keep it that way. The house hot tea is delicious it is oolong. The food is ok. If your a fan of buffets and a big eater this is a good deal. For me not so much. The service is always excellent and most of the staff has been there for many years. Worth a try

I have been a fairly regular customer for about a year now and I can safely say that tradition ends today. When it's good, it's great. But the food quality and quantity is far too inconsistent for the price. Today I purchased the sesame beef (a $17 entree) only to get home and discover the below photo. I don't know if I was accidentally given the child's menu sesame beef or if the cook intentionally tried to pass off a half full container as a full serving.

But paying $17 for that portion and having to pay extra for white rice is a trap I'll never fall into again. This is not the first time I've had issues with food quality or portion size here. Save your money and go down the street to Chipotle McDonald's. You'll get twice the food for half the price.

This food is so good and the sweet tea is the best if you haven't tried it here u need to u will not be disappointed

I have seen a LOT of bad reviews for Great Wall and I have to say, despite them we tried the food and we are so glad we did! I am limited on what food I can eat from certain places due to allergies, and other issues, so when we found Great Wall we were ecstatic! We hail from Chicago IL, and have moved from there to VA and then to here in NC. We dearly miss Chinese food, GOOD Chinese food, and we FOUND IT at Great Wall!

We had found another place but it was over $50 for the 2 of us. REALLY?! Now it is reasonable and the ONLY concession is that I have to pick it up a mile from the house. Not a big deal. Great Wall Staff is friendly, fast, reasonably priced, and GENEROUSLY portioned! One order of my food literally lasts me 4-5 meals. I am not kidding! Granted I don't eat a ton of food at a sitting, but still I eat a single reasonable portion.

There is literally a $30 difference, and the taste is fantastic! Great Wall's BBQ Pork is amazing. That is what I eat, with white rice, it is just like Chicago's, hubby eats various items but loves the fried wonton. We are so happy to have found Great Wall!

THIS is what they mean by BAD CHINESE! Get ready for diarrhea, and maybe vomiting. Food is HOOORRRIBLE! Greasy, old food mixed to make 'new food', rude service, poor examples of recipes we americans have come to love and rely on in americanized chinese food! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Nothing we ordered made us make ANY 'yummy noises' or smiles or head nods.instead.wrinkled noses, trips to the toilet and bitter memories!

Crispy General Tso chicken! One of the better versions we've had in the area, although it could have been a bit more spicy. Pork fried rice was good - not too sticky and flavorful. Chicken with broccoli (spicy) was also tasty and broccoli cooked evenly, not too firm or mushy. Egg rolls were crispy and tasty! Only negative comment, it seemed like the inner part of the egg roll wrapper did not get cooked completely and it partially unraveled. If you are calling your order in, you can use the "Beyond Menu" app to look at their menu.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I ordered Chicken Chow Mein.which is stir fried noodles and chicken. I got chicken in a gloopy white sauce. I ordered cream cheese ragoons, and got imitation crab in them. In the description there is nothing about crab, I am allergic to fish (I don't care if it is imitation, I also hate the taste). I called the restaurant and asked them to make the correct food which they said I had to come up there.

I paid for delivery. The refused to re-deliver the food because it is too far. 5 miles? too far? Why should I have to inconvenience my night and go up there when I paid for delivery? Fix it. So my husband had to take back the whole order and interrupt our night to get a refund from them. Their food looked nasty anyway. They argued what Chicken Chow Mein is.that it is chicken and vegetables. Google it. It's chicken and noodles. Horrible customer service, shouting in Chinese, do not eat here.

This is OK Chinese food but if you EVER want delivery service. GOOD LUCK! They always have an excuse for not having a driver available.either they don't come in until after 5pm or they are missing a TIRE on their vehicle! GEEZ! If you want to take the trip out to them, again, it's OK.nothing spectacular about their food. SORRY! :

Great pepper steak & rice. It has a great flavor & always comes steaming hot, even when it's a call-in. I've been coming since I was a kid & cannot find another place that tastes as good.

First and last time I'll come here. Extremely slow service. They weren't busy, just slow. Pork fried rice was cold and lumpy. Probably left over from yesterday. Chicken was more fat than meat. I left here hungry looking for a McDonald's.
