Clambakes of Connecticut is owned and operated by Ron Cohn. Ron is a lifetime resident of Connecticut. He has over 40 years of catering experience. Ron began his career with a passion for good food and a strong desire to exceed his clients' expectations. There is a reason Clinton Kelly called Clambakes of Connecticut "The Kings of Clambakes" and that reason is simple, Clambakes of Connecticut is a family owned and operated business.
Thank you to all who tuned in for our Primetime premiere on "The Chew" aired by ABC. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family and staff for the hard work they put in for the filming of the clambake segment on "The Chews" Memorial Day Special Prime Time premiere. We had a few short days to prepare for the filming of this episode.

I cannot say enough good things about the vendor. From the food to the presentation, everything was beyond perfect. Ron & his team are absolutely amazing. My guests loved the food so much & are still talking about it 3 months later. We have been told countless times it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Ron was available for all questions and concerns we had, especially during this uncertain time.
His team was professional and courteous the entire event. We are looking for any excuse to have a party just so we can hire them again! If you want an out of this world meal for your wedding or event, do not hesitate to book Clambakes of Connecticut. You won't regret it!

My initial contact with Clambakes of CT was great, but after booking things went downhill. I was told I would be contacted a week before our event to confirm details (an at-home wedding of 20 people) and that never happened so I had to reach out. The actual food and service was extremely disappointing. Food was bland (grilled steak, salmon, and vegetables), one of the staff was not vaccinated, they disposed of grease by dumping it on our driveway/lawn, very poor timing in terms of getting the food cooked and ready to go.
I had to add an extra hour with our photographer because the appetizers and dinner were so delayed. Huge discrepancy with receiving various invoices. Edit: I was contacted multiple times by the owner to take down my review.

We used Clambakes of CT to cater our wedding. From the moment we contacted them with our proposal for our wedding we knew we had the right company. The Cohn family was very professional. They helped us plan the event, and provided full setup the day of our wedding. The food was phenomenal! We continue to receive compliments on our wedding meal weeks after the event. I highly recommend Clambakes of Connecticut for your wedding or large party, especially if you are doing most of the planning yourself.

Clambakes made my wedding, and here's why: Note: this was an outdoor, 200 person tented wedding! 1. Leda. She was the head coordinator at my wedding. Not only did she communicate with me almost every other day leading to the wedding, it wasn't just about the food! I wish I had known earlier that clambakes actually has someone that is like a wedding planner!
We bounced design ideas off each other, talked about decor, about things I would need like dumpsters etc. She was an absolute joy to work with! 2. The food. My guests plates were piled high and then a full lobster was thrown on top! It was great to see people with lobster bibs over their formal attire eating at all the tables. I have some very memorable photos. 3.
The cook out. At first I thought I would have to get a screen to cover the cook space, but Eric - my head chef extraordinaire - said no. The guests really like to watch the grills. And they do! So many men would walk up to the grills, grab live lobsters, talk to the staff! They were so friendly and interactive it added this whole other level to my wedding. Those were my three favorite things, they were great. I had so many compliments and great service and I'd recommend clambakes to anyone!

Food was very good - there simply wasn't enough of it. I made the mistake of telling them a day before that my numbers had dropped - we agreed that since the $$ wouldn't go down, that I would have that number of dinners provided at the end of the evening as leftovers. This did not happen. I got a plate of mashed potatoes - and that was all. I felt cheated - and my guests felt hungry.

Great barbeque place indeed! If you're a barbeque lover, then you'll definitely enjoy lunch here! Their collard greens are delish! The place is small, but very cozy. There is a variety of briskets, barbeque, and chicken! Their sauces are homemade, and so is their breads and cornbread. Definitely good eats and very inexpensive!

Wow I don't even know where to begin all the wonderful things to say about Ron and his staff at clambakes of ct! They catered our wedding this past Friday June 26 2015 at the cabin at wickham park in Manchester, CT. To say the least they definitely went above and beyond!! They were so friendly, professional, and easy to work with! They did even more than what was asked just to make our day even more special.
And on top of all of it the food was absolutely phenominal!!! Ron I cannot thank you and your staff enough! We are so happy we chose you and will recommend you whenever we can!:)

Ron and his staff did an amazing job catering our daughter's wedding this past Friday at Wickham Park. Their attention to detail was noticed and appreciated not only by my husband and I but also by all of our guests. We ordered the Standard Texas BBQ menu but let me tell you, there was nothing standard about that menu. The food was delicious and the presentation was beyond my expectations. Ron was very helpful to me throughout the afternoon and evening with last minute details and decisions.
Our daughter and son-in-law knew what they were doing when they chose Clambakes of Connecticut as the caterer for the most important day of their lives. I would recommend this caterer to anyone for any special event. Thank you Ron!

I don't even know where to begin with this amazing group - Ron, Eric, Leda and crew left a lifelong impression on us. Ron runs his business on the sole premise of making your day everything you imagined. From menu suggestions/opinions to countless menu changes to pricing to pure honesty when you have too much food...Ron was always there for every email or phone call and always made sure everyone was happy :) He runs Clambakes like an intimate family business and treats you as if you're the only event he's working through. Leda - everyone needs a Leda for their wedding day, though you'll never find someone else like her. Leda is the coordinator of all coordinators, the planner of all planners...and the most caring person.
Your wedding reception is guaranteed to be perfect with Leda involved. From the first time I spoke with Leda, she was interested in every detail of the day and offered her crew for every task necessary. It's clear she and her crew have a ton of experience with weddings and will ensure a smooth day. Leda brought some of her own decorations to complement our decor, she provided thoughtful suggestions for flow of the day, she had a detailed task list/timeline prepared within a day of our first phone call, she became my wedding backbone for random questions I had and always kept in contact with me to ensure I was all set.
You will miss Leda dearly when your wedding is over :( Although Eric is more behind the scenes as the chef...you are in great hands with the food he puts out. My husband is a chef so of course had initial concerns with someone else cooking for such an important day. You have nothing to worry about with Eric & his crew - all of the food was cooked & executed perfectly!
From the king crab to the lobster to the steak to the raw bar and most importantly the pigs...we were so impressed! We are still getting complements on how good the food was! We could never thank Clambakes enough for making our wedding day so perfect :)
