We have implemented new safety measures to provide our customers with an experience that is both hygienic and fun. Method patented by our founder, Dick Donley, Caveman Kitchen specializes in this same, flavorful smokehouse technique since 1971.
Services
Founded in 1971 by Dick Donley. Cave Man Kitchen, today, still specializes in the same, flavorful smokehouse technique using local woods stoked over an open flame which gives our meats a uniquely Northwest flavor. Smoking is an art that relies on the senses. Through our many years of experience, we have perfected the craft hailing our unique smoke roasting techniques with much acclaim. As in days of old, our wood smoking signature of authenticity is the smoke ring and reddish color within the pork, beef, chicken, ribs, turkey, etc.
With over 43 years of experience in catering, Cave Man Kitchen has helped create memorable events throughout the Seattle area. Presidents, Fortune 500 Companies, celebrities, athletes, and a whole lot of local fans are among the roster of our happy clientele.
Keep it chilled and take it out a few hours before it's time to eat (keep it away from the dog!) and let come to room temperature. Our smoked turkey is at its best-served room temperature. Should you choose to warm, we suggest in the oven in a pan over a little water so it does not dry out. Smoke-Roasted, Virginia-style ham, sliced or portioned. Our hams are REAL not pressed or formed whole meat, no additives, Paleo, Keto, and gluten-free!
On the rare occasion that you do not receive food that is on your receipt, we will make it up to you. Please call us as soon as you notice that we missed any food items in your order. You may come to pick up or ask for an in-store credit. You may cancel the missed food before we prepare it without any question, and we will refund the amount to a credit card if it was used or we will refund you with a store credit. No cash refunds. We cook our food fresh to order with only the finest and freshest, USDA-certified ingredients.

I used to go to Caveman Kitchen all the time. I think under my body mass index, I was 18% polish sausage sandwich. I moved a little further away and and just stopped going because it was quite far away from my new travel routes. Recently however I dropped some family off at the airport and thought of Caveman for lunch. I got the polish sandwich and parked down the road by the old driving range and opened my lunch.

Now this used to be a perfect sandwich. It cost under $10 after tax. The bread, Polish sausage and sauce (and for me the cayenne pepper) were the perfect amount for the sandwich. Not only was the lone sandwich about $15, they screwed it up. There was not enough meat or sauce to cover the bread. Seriously, I moved the sausage so I was able to have half of a good sandwich instead of a mostly dry one. That used to be a great place! Total Bummer! Greed ruined another business!

Recommended by a local. Gotta say not good. Got the Alabama Slam. The pork tasted like yesterday's meat. The bread was hot but the meat was cold in places and warm in others. The sauce tasted more like ketchup then anything. Sad because I was reading the old-school wall they had with hand written notes. The girl who took my order was very polite. The girl who gave me my sandwich gave me the impression I was somehow an inconvenience in her day.

$20 for this sandwich. Couldn't even put napkins in the bag? Paid 5 dollars for a small soda cup. The lady who I assume is the owner was being extremely frustrated and rude to her daughter and the other employee. The other employee was trying to help on the cash register while the lady was making sandwiches. She got rude with him when he said he would stay a few minutes and help.

She told him "I've got the front and I've got the back, just walk away". There's no excuse for this. There's "now hiring" signs in the restaurant, too. I have a feeling that sign will be there for a very long time. Companies call it a labor shortage. I think it's a positive-leadership shortage. 0/5 stars if there were the option.

I got a beef sandwich for lunch and the total with tax and tip was over $20 without any sides. The bread was amazing and perfectly toasted and buttered. Their House made BBQ sauce was a little bland it tasted like ketchup with some seasonings added. The killer was the beef in the middle of the sandwich was cold. Maybe it was a fluke, but for as much as it cost it would be nice to have it be warm.

I am finally lowering my ranking of Caveman Kitchen after decades of supporting and patronizing this local business in Kent, WA. I ordered my usual Chicken Sandwich and potato salad, with a lemonade at the counter. I even tipped the young lady 5 dollars when paying for the food. I then noticed the Chicken Sandwich prices jumped up to 14 dollars as well as the potato salad prices.

I saved judgement when the food was delivered at a slower speed than usual, not good when you are the only physical customer at the counter that day. The sandwich was fine but when I dug into the potato salad, I found a long female hair inside which was a major turnoff. Not only am I not going to return back, I am going to remove this on my Yelp page as being one of the last meals I would want to have.

This was pretty disgusting and I hope the owners read this review and respond accordingly. Also, what wasn't surprising was the young lady overcharged the next customer who was after me by 25 dollars. He ended up calling her on this and she was too ignorant to apologize or show remorse. The days of Caveman are long gone. My loyalty has now been removed from this one-time favorite spot to visit when coming from the SeaTac airport.

Best smoked salmon you will ever have in your life! It has always been a family favorite that everyone enjoys. I dare you to find one better in all of western Washington. The employees are always so kind and the food tastes delicious. Despite the higher prices, they still reach higher than the expectation and it's definitely worth the money!

This place had some bad reviews, which we should have listened to. From the outside it looks like a great BBQ joint with a nice classic feel to it. The inside is clean and the staff are nice, but the food sucks. The pork sandwich was #mid and tasted kind of like cardboard without the BBQ sauce. With the sauce it tastes exactly how I imagine BBQ cardboard tastes like.

The chicken bacon ranch sandwich was #uppermid, although seemed a little pricey. Two sandwiches and a container of BBQ sauce totaled about $60 with tip Sadly, I don't think I'll be returning to Caveman Kitchen any time soon.

The bbq sauce is ok. It doesn't taste bad, just doesn't taste good. The baked beans were definitely the best part. If you have the option, go elsewhere.

I came in today after work, I ordered a half chicken w/ beans and potatoe salad. The service was extremely fast. The sides were of fair portion size and well flavored. The chicken looked and tasted pretty good. 2 issues that tank my review. Not a drop of BBQ sauce in sight. Chicken was not moist enough on its own, so I sorely missed some sauce. The 2nd comes from a terrible experience customer service wise.

The cashier was pushy and very impolite. Showed a Lack of effort/care in general. Perhaps they were just having a really bad day. It's unfortunate as this was my first time here and the food itself might draw me back but the experience as a whole was sullied.

Could be the best chicken BBQ sandwich I have had! Delicious. Don't come for 5 star dining because you can sit outside on the picnic tables. They are very proud of the art of hand made BBQ and the price reflects this at the register!

The chili was delicious! The ribs should be labeled smoked jerky not ribs. The meat was extremely tough and was very hard to even get it off the bone. Slaw and potato salad were pretty basic and the beans had absolutely no flavor. The guest service was phenomenal. One visit was enough for us.

Every year for the past 25 years for my birthday I have BBQ ribs and try a new place out. This year was Cave Man's time and boy did they set a new bar, the lowest one. I just had the toughest ribs I have ever ate and if I wanted beef jerky, I could have gone to Costco. The sides were not very flavorful either. What is going on with this place?

So to be honest I don't think I could fairly rate this place based on my first experience. my co-worker and I had lunch here, (which is obviously not their customer base) but we had sandwiches, not any of the smoked meat, to be fair, the sandwiches were good. but not 16 bucks a piece good. Then you include a side and soda it was 24 bucks each for lunch.

Now don't get me wrong, I love great food. And I'll pay money for great food. But I just don't see it here. If it was a 16-17 dollar meal I could easily say 4 stars. But what I got for the price just did not impress

I'd never been here before, despite having worked just down the road for years. I was excited to try them, and they had a certain reputation and expectations that preceded them for me, that they easily exceeded when I got there. I only wish it was a tad less expensive, so I could eat there more often. But being that my budget issues are not their fault, I didn't hold this against them.

What you get for what you pay is more than adequate, and the flavors are BOMB. I got their smoked chicken bacon ranch sandwich, which is HIGHLY recommended! They have a cute covered outdoor seating area with a rad mural to look at, and the owners were extremely friendly and chatted up their customers! The reason for 4 stars is because we watched the person handling our food with her mask hanging well below her nose and most of her mouth, while doing lots of heavy breathing and talking to other staff as she was hustling to get the orders out.

After 2+ years dealing with covid variants, it just astounds me that so many people still refuse to wear their masks the right way, especially when handling other people's food.

Employees do not wear masks. Bootleg bread pudding was not very good. I threw it out.

Saw this place on one of the North West famous restaurants on television so thought I would try it out. Dirty, nasty, no public bathrooms and only outdoor tables in a sad little lean to type structure. I was really hungry and drove out of my way to try so I sucked it up and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and my husband ordered the chicken sandwich.

No sides included. No drinks included. $48.50! For 2 sandwiches, 2 sides and 2 sodas! Coleslaw had zero taste. Like it was just cabbage shredded up with nothing on it. The pulled pork was not pulled but sliced and tasted like it came from Costco. No smoke flavor what so ever. The BBQ sauce was like spaghetti sauce it was so full of tomatoes. 2 bites and it went in the trash. Come on folks you could do better than this. Anyone could do better than this. No more restaurant advice from the tv. Wish I had my money back.

I was first interdouced to The Caveman in Kent, WA by my UPS truck friends. I moved to Yuma, AZ five years ago. Yuma is 12 miles from Algonas, MX. Great Mexican food, the best I've ever had. Back to Rating Caveman Kitchen. 10 Stars out of 5. Like other restaurants I don't like everything that they have on the menu. My favorits: 1. The Caveman Poor Boy sandwich I order the Poor Boy right off the menu no substitutions 2.

The Caveman Polish Sasuage sandwich. Note the Polish sandwich comes Hot Medium and mild. I special order it Medium/Mild to be on the lighter safe side to enjoy. 3. If hungry Tasty Sides Potato Salad and the Dragon Wheels and many more tasty choices.

Pork Ribs, Pork Cubes and Dragon Wheel side. The pictures can't do it justice. I understand we still in a pandemic. But the food was like from a zombie apocalypse. Cubes were stone cold & dry. Ribs were old, dry and hard. The potatoes & veggies was 2 wks old. Yes, I guess it was made by a Caveman. Hate to write bad review, but had high expectations for old establishment. Cheers everyone

Don't recommend this place. I ordered a meal, thought it be worth my $23. But, nope. I ordered the pulled pork meal, and didn't taste or look like pulled pork. The bbq sauce tasted like tomato sauce. Definitely a small portion on the sides and the meats itself. And they can definitely also work on their customer service. Wish you luck and hope you improve your service.

This is the second time I've eaten here and the food doesn't disappoint. What does is the service, this three stars. The attitude towards customers, snide remarks towards fellow employees and arguing amongst employees while waiting for your food set for a bad taste before eating your food. While the food has great flavor I can't say this is a place I'd like to frequent or recommend.

Delightfully messy and delicious. Everything is home made, even the bread for the sandwiches (which is just the right amount of crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside). Meats melt in your mouth and are full of flavor. Just make sure you get enough napkins

Great idea, poor execution. Portions were tiny -- smoked chicken for $40 a pound? French dip that was 80% overly-buttered bread? This place should cut their prices in half and trim the meat they're serving -- that might put them on the road to success.

We decided to go to Caveman again for dinner and I ordered something I normally don't get and boy I'm glad I did. The chicken bacon ranch sandwich was so yummy! Lots of chicken, bbq sauce, ranch and of course who can go wrong when you add bacon! The sandwich was like a 3 napkin sandwich I needed 3 of them to clean up my hands! I will be ordering this from now on with a side of dragon wheels of course!

I really wanted to love this place. The BBQ is good, but seating is crap. Flies in the summer and cold with wind in the winter. The metal roof leaks here and there and drips happen. There is some food the gets dropped and the birds swoop in. The seating really takes away from the food experience.

So I was impressed, being that I was on a keto diet, how accommodating the staff and the food. I like how they prepared the food and the level of consideration the staff had at caveman kitchen. I ordered the quarter chicken dinner. should have when with the half! Lol I guess I was hungrier than I thought, not their fault. The chicken was flavorful and you have to love the Smoked flavor of the meat. But! My favorite was their chili! So meaty and delicious! I will be back.

My fiance's co-worker said this was the BBQ place to go to and That it was really good. We already have our favorite BBQ place in the area, but in a effort to branch out we decided to see for ourselves. Our go to's usually include some kind of Bbq meat on a sandwich, potato salad and bbq ribs. The special for today (it's a Sunday) was 1/2 lb Bbq Ribs, a small side and a drink for $14.99 My fiance ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich and the Dragons Wheels.

My ribs were delicious. They were lathered in sauce and the meat had good flavor, but the majority of my portion was bones so that was slightly disappointing. The potato salad was kind of like cold mashed potatoes with egg. A little too sweet for our tastes considering we like a more savory potato salad with big pieces of potato. The Chicken Bacon Ranch ($12-14) sandwich had a good portion of meat in it.

The meat was a little dry. The presence of the ranch was not noticeable. And the sandwich was cut so that the second you took a bite it all fell apart. The Dragon Wheels were ($6.99) you got a tiny sized boat of well roasted potatoes with carrots, onion and a piece of pork in it. I was super disappointed with the portion size of the Dragon Wheels.

While they tasted good I would never pay -almost $7 for a boat no bigger than my hand of potatoes. We received a complimentary dessert. It was good and a nice surprise to find in our bag of food to go. The staff was super friendly and that made the experience pleasant. I felt bad for the cook because it was her preparing all of the food for the orders and the only one order taker.
