Cafe Max Catering

I decided to go to Cafe Max for lunch today because it has been years since I've been here. I remember the food being good and the portion was generous but that was not the case today. The food was just okay and overpriced. The portion was way smaller too. I can't justify going back here with their price increase and smaller portion.

I was so so disappointed with the salad trio today. The chicken was very tough and dry! It cost me $17 for this too. That is highway robbery! Cafe Max and I are breaking up! It's been a good run, but it's just not worth it anymore. Goodbye Cafe Max!

Take out is still the only option. Staff is not pleasant and prices have increased a lot. I got the trio (no meat), a cookie and medium tea and it was $18.40. For that price I'd rather sit in a restaurant not my break room at work. Yes the food was good.

I wish I could say that the food was good enough to overlook how miserable the workers here are. They literally don't greet you and don't respond to a thank you after payment. It's just not worth it. You're better off making your salads at home drenched in dressing. That's they only reason the food is decent here.

Food was good but my god the staff was so rude & awkward the moment you walk in, definitely the type to talk abt you as some as you leave the door. Will try the Plano location next time.

Had their chicken salad, pasta salad and caesar salad - it was great! Quite fresh and well blended

They have one of the best caesar salads on the market. I also enjoy the imitation crab salad, pasta salad & zucchini muffin! I've tried a soup & sandwich combo as well, just can't remember what I ordered. Food is always fresh & good. Customer service.meh. the employees for the most part are always dry. I get they have to move the line & I'm sure people come in acting as if they don't know what's on the menu as they have had the same to-go menu for decades. That being said, being more welcoming still goes a long way. I sometimes want to ask them why does it always seem like they're having a bad day.

I've been coming to Cafe Max for YEARS. Food is always the best and well served. But today I went and was the only person in the store and the first thing that came out of one of the associates mouth was do you have a mask. very rudely might I add. Before I even get greeted, I get yelled at for not having a mask when they have 1000 signs at the door.

I'm not going to stand at the door and read every sign when I am in a rush. But I said yes I do, I will go grab one. Went to my car grabbed a mask and came back inside for food. I don't mind someone asking me to put on a mask but the way the associate approached the situation was incredibly disrespectful. Not the way to treat a longtime client or any client in that matter.

I work a front facing customer job and that is the rudest thing you could just do to someone. Not even a hello, how is your morning going, just flat out yelling across the store, where is your mask? Team definitely needs to be trained on how to greet a client. if you don't have clients you don't have a business. Do better.

We used to go to this location a while ago but then we started going to the Plano location. I was close by this past week so I stopped by to grab a few salads to go and they were terrible! The chicken didn't have the usual flavor, it was chewy, and didn't taste fresh. On top of that, 2 of us got sick! Will not be returning here!

Have been a customer since they opened at their original location! EVERYTHING on the menu is Spectacular. My Favorite are the Chicken salad, Seafood salad, pasta, cucumber salad a, d Ceasar salad. The rolls are so delicious but it is hard to beat the Zucchini muffins and the oatmeal cookies topped off with their infamous orange spiced iced tea! OBSESSED FAN FOREVER!

I wish I was writing a review on how good the food is here, because it is indeed great food. The lady's working there are always very nice and sweet, the older gentlemen working there on the other hand is not, he is in fact rude. I was told I couldn't go inside without a mask, so I turned around and left. This will be my last visit.

I love the chicken, potato, pasta and Caesar salad from here. It's always busy every time I come but worth the wait.

I haven't been to Cafe Max in over 20 years, so I thought I would drop by while I was in Richardson, since I have very fond memories of great food and friendly service. So, I called the restaurant from my car, because I saw people waiting outside (I didn't know if I had to place my order online, place it inside, etc. in this Covid environment) A man answers the phone, and I ask my question about the ordering process.

First he just says, "WHAT?" He then rudely replies, "Well, if you're still at HOME, you can place your order with me now, but if you're in the PARKING LOT, you have to wait in the line outside. Hey Batman: riddle me this.why the H-double-hockysticks does it MATTER TO YOU if I'm at HOME waiting or in my CAR waiting after a 2-hour doctor's appointment?

Customer service like this is why restaurants that are hanging by a thread in this Covid environment go OUT OF BUSINESS! No stars (wish that were an option) for Cafe Max so far: rude, rude, RUDE! Will post an update after we try the food. By the way, guy on the phone, I posted this from my car, in your parking lot. LOL.

I love this place! I saw it leaving from my appointment at peachy skin bar and I'm happy I went in. The Caesar salad is the best Caesar salad I've ever had! The dressing taste extremely fresh and they tossed it right in front of you. Are usually get the salad trio, you can also get a sampler if you want to try all the salads, and they are all great.

Don't skip the zucchini muffin it's delicious so are the cookies, quiche and soup and actually don't forget and iced orange spice tea! Every time I visit this shopping center I stop by it's really delicious!

Salad was wonderful. Service her is terrible. Even though Texas is open they require a mask. They will not provide one. Very rude about this policy. Made several rude comments to me and my husband. Funny they require this of customers but the man that made my plate was wearing his mask under his nose. His nose was not covered as he made my plate. We should have left. In addition he did not have on any food safety gloves as he made the plate. I do not recommend unless you want to be treated poorly. Maybe try plano location.

I prefer the Plano location. Better service and better quality food. Staff here is borderline rude. The girls preparing the salads barely speak to you, act like you ordering is an "inconvenience " to them and after multiple times of going here I don't think I've seen a smile out of any of them. Salads are good, however the sandwiches are just regular deli meat and grocery store shelf bread. Also don't wear gloves when preparing your food.

The food is so good! But the staff is AWFUL They are so rude. Even though the food is good I won't support an establishment that leads its employees be so rude.

Very unhappy with Cafe Max. Used to be one of my favorite spots. I called in an order and went to pick it up. When I arrived to pick up my order they told me I could not come in without a mask no matter what. I asked them if they could run my card and bring my order outside and they rudely said no. I asked them why they did not tell me their policy when I called in the order since Texas is now open. They refused to help me. I will not ever go there again and I advise everyone to boycott cafe max. Terrible service and rude staff.

For a quick salad lunch this is a great spot. Dine-in still isn't an option at this time since they are short staffed but the to-go process is pretty quick and easy. If you are really in a crunch for time, you can call ahead 15 minutes and place your order to skip the line. They still enforce face masks and limit the number of people in the store (thank you!).

My first time here, I wanted to try everything so I got the salad sampler which included a heft scoop of Cesar salad and 7 small scoops of the other types. I enjoyed them all and my least favorite one was the vegetable (probably because it was the healthiest one!).

The amount of food you get for the price is impressive. This will definitely fill you up! The food was ok but honestly nothing to write home about. The chicken salad is no traditional. It is not mayo based. It almost had an Asian taste to it? Like almost a teriyaki flavor? Pasta salad and Caesar salad was standard. I would definitely come back if I wanted a combination of salads to eat for lunch.

First time visiting. I feel like it is way overpriced for the quality of food. Take my "Chocolate Chip" cookie for example. Thank God I am not allergic to nuts because there were quite a few in my cookie. If I had known that I wouldn't have ordered it. Either way I paid almost $3 for an overcooked, HARD cookie. They should serve their cookies with milk if this is the normal way they are served. They should also wear gloves when preparing food.

This place is good, but definitely weird food vibes. I ordered take out and got the trio. The Caesar salad was yummy, but it's honestly hard to mess that up. I also got the fruit, also hard to mess up, actually basically impossible. The chicken was just.weird. It was almost like a Teriyaki chicken from a Chinese restaurant, but cold & add some sliced apples and nuts.

I didn't know the chicken had nuts in it & I am allergic, so I ended up eating two bites before having to throw it away. I wasn't impressed by any means, and probably won't be ordering again unless I want something simple like fruit or a salad.

Make sure to call your order in for pick up that's the way they are handling orders during this pandemic. There salads always hit! My go to is the chicken, Cesar and pasta! Have to get a side of seafood and crackers for my daughter she absolutely loves it! Prices are reasonable for your huge portions of food! Y'all check em out if you haven't!

Cafe Max never disappoints my taste buds. Prompt service with a smile which is always appreciated. The food is constant in taste, flavor and price. BONUS! I tried the Salad Trio for lunch. cucumber salad, chicken salad on a bed of ceasar salad. For $11.34, I has enough food for two people there was no way I would be able to finish it all ar once. Definitely a legit spot to grab a bite from. Can't wait to try something else from their menu.

This is one of my go to catering places when I'm hosting a work event. They always have everything packed neatly and ready for pick up at the time specified. I've never had to wait. Pricing is reasonable and the quantity is good. I usually get the salad trio with caesar salad, chicken salad, and pasta salad. It comes with rolls or muffins so I do half and half. Staff is really friendly and accommodating.

One of our all time favorite places to eat. The triple has been around for at least 30 years and my favorites are chicken, cucumber and fruit. Take out and delIver to your favorite teacher. Especially if she is married to you. :

Way over priced in my opinion. I got a sandwich and soup combo with an oatmeal cookie. Cost was almost $12 and some change. The "bowl" of soup tastes like Campbell's chicken and rice. The sandwich was okay, but nothing special for the price. Waiting in line for my call in order was hot. The lady checking out threw a fit for some reason? Not a great first impression by any means. There are a lot of other places in the area with bigger portions and more flavor for the same price. Don't see myself going back.
