The grounds are very beautiful but the main venue seems a little dated. It feels like a building that was contenuely added on to until it is how it stands. I'm sure this can be overcome how you set up your event, just something to keep in mind.

We attended a wedding here for a family member several weeks ago. First I want to say that the wedding was beautiful and the food was awesome! We were very excited after receiving info from the bride on Buckridge and looking over the description and pictures of the accommodations we would enjoy for the weekend. We were offered by the bride to stay in the Manor but declined because we really needed two rooms to accommodate our children and were told the price per night was $250.00 plus.

We were told it would be 75.00 per night to stay in a cabin/house. It was upon arrival that wecwere informed that it was actually $75.00 Per Person per night. While this seemed a bit pricey ($300 plus taxes per night for our little family) we were ok with it because like we said before we had looked over the website and felt these accommodations would rival at least a 4 star and maybe even a 5 star hotel.

We had also at this point been inside the Manor, which is beautiful. However, we were very taken back when we opened the door to the house we were staying in and it was a dump! An absolute dump. It is no way matched the descriptions and pics we saw on the Buckridge website. To add insult to injury we found out that everyone else's, besides those staying in the house next to us, were paying the same price we did and did have beautiful, luxurious accomodations.

We had no bath tubs only showers. Which would not have been a problem but we have little ones who needed a tub. The light fixtures in both bathrooms had burnt out bulbs and we had plumbing issues during our stay. Being told not to use the shower, water or toilets until they could resolved. This was extremely inconvenient to say the least. Not wanting to cause drama or upset the bride during her special weekend we kept quiet and did not mention it to her.

However the front desk was aware we were not happy. It was during a conversation in which the groom's father mentioned that when touring Buckridge they were shown all the properties they use for accommodations except the house we stayed in as well as the one next to us. But they were told the lay out was similar to the other properties/rooms on the plantation.

I always think long and hard before leaving a negative review. But I would not want anybody else to end up spending this kind of money for these accommodations. In being fair I will say that all other accommodations at Buckridge were very nice. I do have pictures that prove my statements.
