Breadmen's had NEVER been about the service, not at this new location of either of the previous locations. They do offer some unique sandwiches, try the Brass Key, and I've always enjoyed their French Fries (ask for Russian dressing to dip them in). They're food is fresh, fast and reliable diner fare. If you're seeking doting servers or a cheerful host, look elsewhere, they've never worked for Breadmen's!

Asked for eggs scrambled with cheese and they put two slices of cheese on top of my eggs. Biscuit was burnt and dry.

My first visit to their new location. The atmosphere is a definite improvement. Food was fine however, the wait staff needed a booster shot to improve customer interaction. Sensitivity to the variety of ages, hearing ability and familiarization of a senior customer with the myriad choices on their menu selection was terse. Waitstaff training will improve this situation. Plenty of outside seating with nice umbrellas provided shade for our morning visit. Coffee is 4 stars! Customer service is 1 star.

Breadmen's is always very good. I've been a customer for 25 years and was thrilled the new location was as good as it was on Rosemary (yes, I've been to both locations on Rosemary). I'm amazed at some of the bad reviews on here. Yes, I've gotten food I wasn't happy about, but I told them immediately and they corrected any problem. Speak up if you don't like what you get and they always come through. Again, always good, consistent and friendly.

Chapel Hill staple. It's in a new location but the food is still the same! I have been going here for years. Some of my favorites are their broccoli casserole, onion rings, grilled chicken salad, BBQ sandwich, banana pudding. The house made ranch is awesome.

Decent food. Bad service. Four of came here right before 5PM on a Monday and were seated right away by the hostess who was very nice. We ordered our food and it came out pretty quick. I got the BBQ sandwich and it was okay. The first bite was chewy but no biggie. Our waitress never came back until it was time to drop off the check. We all wanted refills but that didn't happen.

We wanted to try the banana pudding but she didn't ask and just dropped off the bill. No checking to see if our food was okay, no refills, and just dropping off the check and she had little personality. So why go back?

Really cool joint with great atmosphere! I am a breakfast junkie and typically critique a place based on their home fries. This place has some of the best home fries, ever! Two thumbs up for sure!

Long time solid restaurant in chapel hill. Been here forever and the locals love it. Our experience was good and the food really good. Staff has just a little bit of the attitude that we're going to be here forever and glad you're here but don't try causing causing us an issues because we have all the business we need.

2 stars for the waiter only. 1 star for the food. Dry meatloaf with no sauce or gravy. No one serves meatloaf like this. It was literally ugly to look at. At least 3 day old Mac & Cheese with no flavor and I didn't know they grew fingerling sweet potatoes because I got the smallest one I have ever seen. Terrible experience overall for an 18 dollar meal. Don't forget the dryest rye toast ever.

I ordered breakfast and after a couple of bites realized that nothing tasted great to me. I spoke with the manager & he took it back & I ordered lunch. Lunch was FABULOUS! Moist, tender chicken tenders, coleslaw as good as my grandmother's (I should have ordered more to bring home!), delicious, sweet cornbread and a delectable house salad. I have NEVER returned food before & was SO embarrassed to do so here at one of my FAVORITE restaurants! Everyone was very nice & I left my dear waiter a generous tip for his trouble. I highly recommend Breadman's!

Excellent food and generous portions. We haven't been in many years and nothing has changed except the location. Still dishing out great food at great prices and the portions are still large. Even the banana pudding is giant and delicious treat for dessert, YUMMY! Oh, yes, even the menus are from the old place with same old prices, just hard to believe they haven't gone up. Go now, before they realize every other restaurant either went out of business or increased prices AND reduced portion size.

I am glad it has relocated; it's now about 5 min from my house. The avocado BLT is quite good. Fries. eh, they can do better. Get the chips. Breakfast here is great. I look forward to the return of warm weather and some outdoor breakfasts. It's a good Friday night takeout choice.

A great local breakfast/southern food place! We've had breakfast and dinner here and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The restaurant is a bit small so it may be a good idea to cal in if you want to avoid crowds. The fried chicken is super crispy, it's one of our faves.

Can get busy during weekend brunch time. Food was a bit under seasoned. Attentive service, coffee was refilled quickly. Potatoes were very crispy!

This place has to be one of my favorite breakfast spots in Chapel Hill. Compared to other more expensive options, overrated options I think this one gives you the best bang for your buck. I would highly recommend the egg white turkey, spinach, and cheese omelette with toast and the house fries. I always have leftovers which is a plus! This restaurant is also Hispanic owned so its awesome to know I am supporting this great business. As a UNC sports fanatic myself its also cool to see UNC memorabilia on the walls! Great spot overall to enjoy with family and friends!

Most boring eggs, French toast and hot chocolate milk. Everything bland, tasteless and boring

Sigh. in the new location near regular stores, it is also bad. I got some really bad coffee and a strikingly foolish omelet. Why?

I've waited a couple of months to post this review. My friend and I had become regulars at Breadmen's every Saturday morning. We would meet there every Saturday. For some reason, the cook could NEVER get eggs over easy correct. The whites were always super snotty and uncooked. And every time I'd send it back and ask them to make the whites hard, the yokes runny. I've never been to another restaurant in my life that can't cook eggs over easy correctly.

The straw that broke the camels back was the host, who always had a poor attitude, which was forgivable, until he asked us to stand in the rain until a table was ready. There was a large group ahead of us waiting for a table. Once the large group was seated and we approached, he said we'd have to wait outside in the rain. When we argued, he said we could wait in our cars and he'd call us when our table was ready.

We were next to be seated. There was no reason to go outside. He was rude, sarcastic and just in a foul mood. Since that day, we've been going to Bob Evans every week. The prices are 30% less expensive. My eggs whites are never snotty and the servers are a million times more polite.

We were happy to try Breadman's at new location, but we will not go back. The breakfast food was mediocre at best except the home fries were good. Only Lipton tea bags, unlike other diners, and gravy for biscuits and gravy heavily floured on slight biscuits. Corn beef hash mostly potatoes. Really a very disappointing experience.

Hadn't been to the old location in years, this was the 1st time at the new place. It's small, but we were only one of three occupied tables as we were there for an early Saturday dinner. Husband had the Ruben and absolutely loved it. I had the Big Breadmen's breakfast w french toast. The eggs, sausage and french toast were great. The bacon was burnt, but still edible.

Service was very good, but like some have noted, the staff was about 50% masked. We were about an hour early for many of the entrees I was considering, but that just means we have to come back again as overall it was a good experience.

Place is nice and clean. Lots of Chapel Hill school spirit. Resturant was clean and staff is friendly. Food was basic breakfast/ lunch food

This would have been three stars if it were only on food, service, environment. But it was NOISY; for me conversation was impossible. So two stars. I've been to Breadmen's twice since they moved, very rarely before the move. I find the food to be average for a diner; well below average for a restaurant in this area. The service is poor to adequate.

The environment is meh, probably meh+ if you're a UNC fan. It's handy to us but we will not be rushing back. And, as someone pointed out, no masks on the service people. Wth.

My initial reaction to walking into Breadmen's/Breadman's was slight disappointment that staff was not wearing masks (everywhere else we have visited is still taking this precaution which we have appreciated since we don't know what variants are out there, we don't know if staff have been vaccinated or if they've been exposed to someone with the virus).

It was too warm to sit outside, we were hungry so we did stay and decided to sit inside to be comfortable. I had a Reuben which was not bad, I liked that they didn't chintz on the meat in the sandwich. My husband had the bbq plate with the sweet potato casserole and a side salad. They were ok but not remarkable. We had looked up the menu prior to coming since we had never visited - their menu is out of date and should now include that they do not sell alcoholic beverages at this time. Sadly, I don't foresee a second visit in the future.

First time at the new location on Elliott. Thankfully there's a huge sign on the old lot with the new address. The space is nouveau yet welcoming. Food and service were delicious and not overly salted. I had the pecan waffle, bacon, sausage, and eggs. My friend had the western omelet with the most delicious home fries.

So happy that Breadman's is still around! Notice the difference in the spelling of the name, using an "a" instead of an "e" as the new owners had to change it to continue. The menu is still the same and the quality of the food is exactly the same too, which means very, very good! I had my usual, the Brass Key and a side salad with the lemon tahini dressing, which is to die for!

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the new location, but although smaller, it's very nice, clean, and still has quite a lot of Tar Heels memorabilia. It also has the old sign inside, which is a very nice touch! Go Heels and congrats on this new location for Breadman's!

Told 10 min wait, was actually 25. pancakes were dry, fake syrup and bacon was cooked in microwave. Not coming back.
