Established in 1986, Best Events is celebrating its 33rd year of serving the state line area with a commitment to quality and excellence. Best Events is a full service caterer and event production company offering a wide variety of menus and services, including onsite and offsite catering for 1- 4000 or more guests; fully licensed beverage and bartending services; party rental and custom decorating services; and professional event planning, coordination and staffing for any social or corporate event.
Kelly attended St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, with a focus in Art History, and moved back to Janesville to be closer to family. Best Events was a perfect fit for her creative nature. She enjoys the fun of her job and working with great people; both in her office and her customers. Plus, who doesn't love playing on Pinterest and get paid for it?
Established in 1986, Best Events began when KANDU Industries started renting out the large cafeteria space in their building on Adel St. What started as a small operation named "We Are Catering" would eventually turn into what you know today as Best Events! It is not uncommon for the Best Events kitchen to cater nearly 2,200 meals on any given Saturday, with the highest level of service and hospitality for large parties, intimate small dinners, business lunches, United States presidents, politicians, celebrities, and anything in between.
Planning an event is already stressful enough. On the day of your event, we want you to be able to enjoy yourself as much as your guests will. Leave the work to our professional and reliable staff to bartend, wait tables, clean up, and even have fun with your theme! You shouldn't be serving your guests or clearing plates.

Great/speedy service, good food, beautiful decor, at a good price. Can be a hit or miss on rare occasions in the busy season but all in all they're my go to people. One stop shop for everything.

We had Best Events cater our small wedding of 30 on a weekday at Rotary Botanical Gardens. They worked seamlessly with the coordinator there. The food was great, the decor was exactly what I wanted, the service at the event was professional and friendly. They accommodated guests with food allergies. They responded in a reasonable time to any changes or updates I made throughout the process.

Best Events came through on every detail I requested. The flowers were beautiful! Guests complimented our floral arrangements all day. They had everything ready to go early. I appreciate the idea of an all-in-one catering company, it made it so much easier to plan a wedding when one place takes care of almost every aspect. No surprises on the charges, all straight forward in the estimates.

Me and my husband had our food catering done through best events as well as renting out The Armory for our reception. We were very well taken care of and had an absolute blast. Food was prepared well and all tasted great. Staff was attentive and followed COVID guidelines. The bartender we had did an amazing job and even took time to spend with our youngest child you though he was so cool sitting up at the bar asking for drinks. She didn't once complain and even talked with him when she wasn't busy. Thank you for making our day amazing.

I was going to have my wedding with them at the armory this fall. I backed out because they were so disorganized. During covid 19 I had to be the one to call them multiple times to find out if they had decreased capacity (they did). After leaving 2 voice messages and multiple emails to our coordinator (who we hadn't learned about him being fired until a month after trying to contact him) my call was finally answered where they said "oh yeah guests lists need to be decreased by 25%" I would've loved to know that as soon as possible!

Not when I call and specifically ask! There were so many red flags with this business but we were so in love with the venue that we overlooked them all. Do not use them for your wedding unless you want to be stressed and handling all matters on your own. (I cancelled to go to a different venue due to their disorganization and lost my $500 deposit. I think I deserved it back but I guess I'll cut the loss for not knowing my venue's next move)

The whole showroom needs a complete overhaul; cleaning, painting, restaging, updated decor and rentals.

We used Best Events for our wedding and it was amazing! The food was good and the service was good. I had heard from a few guests that they had gotten up during dinner to use the bathroom or get a drink and got back and their food was gone. It would have been nice to give our guests a bit more time to eat. But other than that, we had no other issues. They followed all of our dietary restrictions for some of our guests and always emailed back in a timely manner. Would recommend for other weddings!

They are tough on their employees but the events always turn out well planned and executed as expected.

I hired Best Events to cater and decorate my wedding, and they definitely have their pros and cons. Pros: The staff on the day of was amazing! The set up crew and the wait staff were so nice and really wanted to make this day perfect for me. Specifically, David (part of the wait staff) did a phenomenal job. He checked in with my husband and I, and he made sure everything went smoothly.

The food was pretty good. Guests raved about the appetizers and entree. The only thing that I heard complaints about, and I, myself, didn't like was the green beans. They were clearly out of a can. My reception looked great. Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE! They are incredibly bad at customer service. First, we were told we would have an estimate given to us in a couple weeks after meeting with an event planner.

Eight weeks later, we still had nothing. It seems like they move pretty slow at Best Events, and if you try to call, someone rarely answers the phone. If you email or leave a message, don't expect to receive a response anytime soon. Check your plan over thoroughly. There were multiple times where I asked for something to be changed, and I would recheck later, and it wasn't fixed. Overall, I was pleased with the end result, but the process of getting there was kind of rocky.
