The Basque Market offers a variety of cooking classes with wine tastings each month. We can also customize a private class for you and your friends or colleagues! We taste three to four wines from the Iberian Peninsula. You'll not only learn some great recipes, but also a fair amount about the wines of this region. You don't have to wait for a special occasion to enjoy a generous portion of delicious seafood, chicken and chorizo paella! Serve a hot and ready Paella for your next party or have one prepared to be re-heated at a later time.

Services
We are well-known for our Basque catering, including our large paellas (sometimes for 800 people or more!) for conferences, parties, weddings, anniversaries, and other events. Rain, snow, or shine, we prepare a paella from start to finish on our patio. It's served at noon on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Basque Market has been fortunate over the years, especially during this past difficult year. We live in a great community and we're thankful for the support of our incredible customers! Each month, we will feature a different croqueta type for this effort. Then we will donate a portion of each sale to certain causes that we choose.
We appreciate a minimum of 48-hour notice. Unfortunately, there may be occasions when we are not be able to fulfill orders despite advanced notice due to prior orders. Items come in/on disposable containers & don't include utensils unless otherwise arranged. Basque Market Banderillas (V, GF), $32.00 - Manchego cheese, house olive, and piquillo pepper all on a bamboo skewer.
The Basque Market specializes in wines from the Basque Country, Spain, France, and Portugal. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect wine for entertaining or just relaxing. Our new member-only club features wines from the Basque Country and the Iberian Peninsula. Each month, we will guide you on a spectacular tasting adventure so that you can experience some of the best Old World wines that we sell.

Easily my favorite place to eat in Boise. The owners are so cool and knowledgeable - I recommend going with an open mind and having them order for you (wine as well). Everything is delicious and freshly made with love and the atmosphere is great. Awesome cafe and little grocery. And don't miss out on their Paella when they have it!

This place was incredible. the meatballs and ham and cheese croquetas were insane. every bite was full of flavor and so incredibly comforting! my partner and I were OBSESSED with those two dishes. the peppers were yummy and the jamon manchego small sand which was perfect to top us off! hit up the Basque museum before or after to take in this wonderful experience : staff is also nice!

I am in love with this place! We stopped by last minute with a large group for lunch, and they were able to fit us in. We ordered a bunch of tapas, but the ones that really stood out to me were the croquetas (we pretty much ordered every kind you could get, and they were all to die for!) and the chorizo bocadillo. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. I definitely have to make my way back here for paella sometime!

Delicious tapas. We weren't fortunate enough to have the paella today. The chef was sick. But we tried other tapas which was great. Definitely going to return again. It's a very small shop.

This place is amazing. The service is out of this world - try all the things, take your time, eat what they suggest and try the wine. Happiest meal I've had in a long time. The market is smaller than I was expecting but that added to its charm of feeling intimate and like we were eating at someone's home. Can't say enough about this place. A must.

Pintxos. Paella. Largest selection of Spanish wine in the Northwest! Croquetas are a must have!

This was a fun place to try. Want to go back for the paella and sample some other items. They only serve paella on certain days, but you can order ahead I guess, and have them save it for you. I tried some croquetas. Wanted to try all flavors, but you have to buy at least 8 of each flavor and there were only two of us so we just tried a couple of flavors. The caramelized onion (did not like) and the piquillo pepper & cheese (did like)

I have been to Spain several times, I even worked there for three months, so every time I see anything Spanish I want to try it. I came here for the paella, served only Wednesdays and Fridays at noon, but I missed it by a little. I decided to try the rest, the tortilla was ok, but nothing like the ones I had in Spain where it's often made to order, fresh and fluffy.

The chorizo bocadillo was very good; the baguette was fresh and crunchy, and the chorizo spicy and aromatic. I also ordered some pinchos, I wasn't impressed. I didn't care for the Sangria either, although it was imported from Spain, it was a generic quality, nothing like a house made sangria with marinated real fruits. Service was friendly, but when ordering I asked if the chorizo was going to be whole or shredded like the Mexican chorizo, I got a snarky "We are not Mexican, we are Spanish!", you mean to tell me the Basque Country is not in Chihuahua?! Who knew. Overall the experience was unconvincing.

Cute little market full of Basque and Spanish wines and foods. We came for tapas and were not disappointed! The croquetas are unbelievably good. Also loved the papas and pinxtos. Staff are friendly and helpful, and they really know their stuff. Try the Basque cider on tap or one of the Basque wines by the glass and get the croquetas!

Such a cool spot! I originally stopped in for help picking out a few bottles of Basque wine, and the staff gave me such awesome recommendations, I returned for more! The second time I was able to relax a bit and enjoyed some delicious sangria and "Pintxos." The spicy olives, calamari, and pimento were so delicious, the friend I brought went back the next day for more. They also do an easy to-go business, so search thebasquemarket.com for pickup options.

It had been a couple of years since my wife, and I had Basque food. Basque Market didn't disappoint. Had a late lunch on a cold winter day and it hit the spot.

Love this place! One of the most charming things about Boise is def the Basque Street and this market is such an essential for the street. I've had their pintxos which were all pretty good, but my favorite is definitely their paella days. I wish they offer it more often bc it's so good! It's fun to see the huge paella being served as well. Great selection of wine, meats, and cheeses too.

Jose recommends wonderful Basque wine when I ate here with family this week. We enjoyed the Peppers, Patas, salad, nuts, and many other yummy tapas. Want to try paella next time. The service is warm, authentic, and helpful.

We have wanted to try this place since we moved here a year ago. We were very familiar with the Basque community and food in Bakersfield, CA. However Boise has a much larger presence of Basques and thus - more food, etc. we had some tapas and a bottle of very good wine, followed by some chorizo and grilled peppers. All were very tasty. As you can see from the pictures, there is a large selections of specialty foods.

The fun part is watching them cook the paella In the VERY large pans. These are hanging on the wall in the pictures. The staff was extremely friendly and answered our many questions

Was really excited to visit here during my trip, and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, and I loved getting to try so many things. The staff were super helpful in explaining what everything was, and being attentive in case we wanted to order more. I also loved the market, and picked up a few gifts for friends and some drinking chocolate for myself.

We went on a First Thursday and took advantage of the 3 for $5 pintxos. Delicious stuff. Had some Txakoli (Getaria) Basa Lore. Fabulous new addtion to the wine lineup. We loved it when we drank it from the stainless steel tanks just overlooking Zarautz. Stayed around and got two plates of the Paella. As good as always. Also had the good standby of red wine - Bodegas Hermanos Pecina Rioja Senorio de P. Pecina Cosecha. We loved it when we drank it at the winery at the foothills of the Sonsierras.

I decided to take a day to relax and visit the Basque Market. I lucked out as it way Paella day. The photos will share the story better than my words, but the meal was amazing from being able to watch the creation to the final tasting. They start with a base that has a sausage and then as the cooking continues they add various ingredients. I love how the shrimp lays still while the mussels & clams face upward.

The combinations of flavors was amazing. In fact it was so good I visited the Basque museum and bought four cookbooks to learn. Plus I bought a Paella kit from the Basque market shop. I see Basque food in my future. It will be fun to learn a new cuisine.

Walked in and it was packed, it's very small inside and first come first serve for a table. We went outside and they turned out heaters for us was quite lovely. The paella was great; cheese platter was superb and went well with the wine selections. Very relaxing and great food, great wait staff. Will be coming back!

Friendly and helpful staff. The guy knew how to do marketing and understand the food, also seem passionate. Croquettes were fun to snack on, they were great. Meatballs were good, nothing special but good enough. Prices are quite high but its downtown so maybe.

Had a great experience visiting The Basque Market on my recent visit to Boise, ID. The food was great and so was the service. Jose made many recommendations which were greatly appreciated. Sadly we were not able to experience the paella. Maybe next time.

Love this place. It's a fun lunch spot where you can try multiple things. I'm a huge fan of the chorizo sandwich. The sangria is also fun in the summer! This place is perfect for exploring the Basque Block!

Good survey of Basque food available in a market or deli type of setting. Food was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Pintxos were tasty, but portions were small. Sandwich was ok, but too small for the price. Salad was excellent. Peppers were delicious. Rice pudding was also nice. The market had some nice items and service was good.

Enjoyed some lovely tapas in this cute shop/restaurant! The calamari was unique in that it was more mozzarella cheese style squid than traditional calamari, but still hit the spot. The mini baguettes were delicious as well, but could have used more meat/cheese inside. I paired it with the meatball sauce, and that really hit the spot. The real star of the show was the cheese board, and at around $14 it was incredibly affordable.

They explained the 3 different types of cheese and meats, and it also came with marcona almonds, olive oil, savory and sweet spreads, and a warm baguette. I would recommend this place, especially the cheese plate, for sure!

What a great find in Boise! We had driven over from Salt Lake City on a little road trip and decided to stay a night in Boise. Heading downtown and looking for food, I found this market nearby and decided to try it out. I love trying local spots and flavors when traveling so was excited to try some Basque foods out while here. Delicious! My group of 3 ordered a bottle of wine and shared several different tapas, all which were so good!

We had some meat and cheese bites, olives, croquettes and a few others. All of it was gone quickly, and the wine was also delicious. Service was also fantastic and the prices were very affordable. I highly recommend stopping in here to try a some local dishes!
