We love Anthony's. Order from there frequently. Was disappointed this Mother's Day though. Ordered Penne Alfredo, there was so much parsley MIXED IN in that you couldn't taste the Alfredo. The chicken didn't seem grilled to me maybe just boiled? We were not a fan. A little sad as that was my Mother's Day dinner. We frequently get the penne Alfredo and it has never been like this. Will order again but it's going to be a little bit until we do. Lol

This place used to be top notch. Gave it 3 stars because the waitress was pretty good. Never got refills on sodas. Food wasn't good and was not hot. Everyone got served except 2 adults and waited another 20 minutes for their pizzas. Salad was rotten and slimy. We had a party of 8 adults and 3 small children with reservations. Wanted to go to Rizzos but they were booked so I suggested this. Wish I hadn't. Sad. Used to be really really good.

I was introduced to Anthony's decades ago (1995) when I had my wedding reception there. They do an excellent job of catering an event, I also bought their chicken tenders for my son's graduation party and once again they didn't disappoint. If you haven't had them, you should. In recent years they have added a brick oven for traditional Italian pizza, which is really good.

I recently tried the house made fettuccine a la Bolognese, very authentic. The staff are very attentive, plus the manager and chef stopped by to make sure everything was okay.

I had scallops, shrimp and vegetables. It was very good, carrots could've been cooked a little longer. My 5 year old granddaughter had the pizza and she loved it!

Went for dinner with friends and was very disappointed in the meal. The food was lukewarm, if that (example - the cheese on the chicken parm had already congealed), the meatballs that are usually very flavorful were bland & order options were limited. The highpoint was our waitress, who went out of her way to try to rectify the issues. When discussing this at work, a coworker said they had the same issues. Not sure if I'll be visiting again any time soon.

Service was fast, staff very friendly, food looked good but the taste wasn't good at all. Pizza bland and chewy, gnocchi very dry. Wouldn't recommend.

Anthony's was recommend by a local who told us it was his favorite restaurant in Johnstown. We didn't really buy it until we finally went tonight. I was so pleasantly surprised by Anthony's. First we ordered a glass of wine on "wine Wednesday" ($3 per glass. you can't beat that), for entrees we took our server's recommendations.

We got chicken Fontino which was cheesy and juicy with a side of pasta (their meat sauce was amazing), and the Margherita pizza which was wood-fire-stove-cooked and absolutely delicious. We ordered the gelato for dessert (chocolate chip espresso) which was incredible. Will definitely return. Per our amazingly attentive and friendly server (Erin), Friday's are their busiest days. What a wonderful place we discovered tonight! Highly recommend, especially for a weeknight.

Holiday party for 38 people was super. Private room served buffet style. Food was hot, tasty, and plentiful, and our server very attentive.

This was my wife and I's first time dinning at Anthony's and we where very pleasantly surprised from the time we entered til we left. The food was some of the best I have had in awhile and we often dine out. The house made Gelato was off the chain to be honest our whole meal was delicious. To make the visit receive 5 stars was our waiter Jericho he made us feel welcome and at home making our experience extra wonderful. Also Jericho was consistent with his service to all our surrounding table's.

Dated interior. The mixed vegetables smelled and tasted horrible. The food in general was terrible, other than the bread. I'm not sure what happened to this place.

Easter buffet was terribly over priced for mediocre food. Several of the plates were dirty.with food still stuck on them. Don't care to go back.

Hadn't been here in a long time - but today we had a banquet after a family funeral. We enjoyed a beautiful and spacious room, elegant tables, and a scrumptious buffet. What really impressed me, though, and why I will try to make it a point to return, is that I surveyed the buffet and commented to my mom that at least I could eat salad and potatoes. An alert staffer heard me and came right over to ask if I had a dietary restriction.

No sooner were the words "gluten free" out of my mouth, than she offered to have something special made. I certainly didn't expect anyone to go out of their way for me, but she insisted, and they made a wonderful chicken filet for me without breading. In a world that is often selfish, I felt cared for and it made a hard day a little easier. Thank you, Anthony's staff!

Been coming here since i was a kid. Best wedding soup I have ever had. Love the salad bar. Disappointed they took off a peach pecan chicken but thier chicken parm is also really good. Huge peice of chicken moist and tender with a crispy breading. We always go here when we come into town. Its one of favorite places.

Not my favorite place to eat. Gave it a shot four different times. In this case the food is on the bottom rung. They use a little too much garlic in their sauce and meatballs. I love garlic but this is a case of too much. Salad bar is not the best. The place is dated and dirty. Not a fan of the banquet rooms or food quality that they serve for these. What else can I say this place is not for me

Stopped in for Sunday brunch. The food wasn't bad but nothing to write home about either. What earned one star was the fact that a lot items that were on the buffet were out/empty with no timely replenishment. There was 1 dinner roll when we went to the line, none available on the next trip. No home fries, no (list too long to mention). If you want to run a brunch, be prepared with sufficient food in a timely manner.

Anthony's catered our daughter's wedding a few weeks ago, and we were very pleased. During the run-up to the event, Lynda was very helpful. and when the wedding took place, we could see that she and her staff were on top of things. We also were very pleased that the food served actually tasted even better than when we first tried it. A meal there prior to the wedding was also very enjoyable -- the food was good and the portions large. In terms of price, they are also very reasonable.

Loved the Pizza, we had the Margarita pie and added pepperoni and mushrooms, it tasted just like Naples! Service and staff were awesome. Can't wait to go back and try the other specialty pizzas.

My Johnstown-native wife turned me on to Anthony's a few years ago. I now request it anytime we're in the area. Great authentic Italian dishes. Sauces are homemade, most pasta is as well. Service is great. And most importantly, the salad bar is A+. May be hard to get in without reservation on Friday and Saturday, but that's only because it's good eatin!

We came for dinner a couple of weeks ago and right off the bat, the hostess was a little snippy because our party of 5 didn't have reservations for early on a Thursday night when the restaurant was almost empty. I understand that it can be busy later on, but there wasn't even a large crowd by the time we left. We ordered two pizzas, the Americano and the Margherita, and they were both delicious. Honestly, some of the best I've had.

The problem is that it took well over an hour for us to receive the second pie, only after our waiter and abother waitress went to "check on it." The pizza finally came and was great, but when it came time to pay it was forty minutes until we were given our credit card back. I'd wholeheartedly recommend the food, but not the deplorable service.

Had an excellent visit here last Friday. We had the fried cheese appetizer, margaherta pizza, and one with pepperoni. I heard the brick oven pizza was great but the fried cheese was as well. Tried the gelato and gob cake for dessert. Salted Carmel gelato was delicious. It was busy so a reservation helped!

Came here with my kids. Everyone else in the place (all 6 of them) was old enough to be *my* grandparent, much less my kids. At 6pm on a Saturday, the dining area was basically empty. Wedding soup was salty, calamari was dry, salmon was lukewarm and almost raw in the center.

We attended a party catered by Anthony's not too long ago. The food was bland, everything was served at room temperature, and the vegetable sides were just dumped out of a can and right into the serving bins. There was no seasoning on anything, including the lasagna. The roast beef was dry, completely overdone, and leathery. It was cut into thin slices, presumably to make it at least chewable if nothing else.

The dinner rolls were of the soggy/spongy "wonder bread" variety, and also just taken out of their bags and dumped on the serving table. The salad was simply some chopped iceberg lettuce with bottled dressing thrown on. At $20 per head, this was a complete ripoff.
