A Gala Event Catering

I was part of a wedding they catered at. Jose was super rude to me as I was getting food, he lied to the bride and her family, and the food wasn't even good, it was cold and bland.

Terrible service to say the least. Not only were appetizers orders and not received, but also a TON of plates were not accounted for. After reaching out several times to ask about the items that were not received, the company refuses to acknowledge the mistake and continues to hang up. Do NOT use their service.

Caterers were extremely unprofessional and rude to my friend and our party. Threw away all extra food even though we told them to provide leftovers to vendors. Food was underwhelming and served in a sloppy fashion. Way overpriced for what you get in return. When approached by my friend regarding the service, they began yelling and being rude for absolutely no reason. I wish I could give zero stars.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! I am extremely unhappy with the portion size and temperature of the food. On the best day of the bride and groom's life, you'd hope for an experience that comes easy and delicious from your caterer, and that is not what was delivered. The bride who is a HUGE seafood lover ordered bacon wrapped shrimp to be served during cocktail hour, I didn't see a single one served!

Save yourself the trouble from this rude service, who has hung up numerous times on the couple who would like an explanation as to why over 50 plates went missing during the event? Look elsewhere for your big day because with this caterer you will be disappointed.

My now husband & I hired A Gala Event catering for our wedding which took place earlier this month. Jose Ibarra was very kind while providing us the demo-plates, but failed to mention the actual dishes would be a good amount smaller. We ordered 140 plates, although our RSVP count was 116 & attendance (including wedding party) sat at 87 people. The staff was reportedly very rude while serving guests.

We had two appetizers, fruit cups were everywhere (of poor quality) & the bacon wrapped shrimp was only seen by a handful & apparently it was cold & over cooked. To make matters worse, approximately 53 meals were lost/thrown out because none of our other vendors got dinner & guests who went for seconds were denied. My parents contacted Jose to discuss these issues & he ended up hanging up on them, yelled at my mom, etc.

Besides the initial meet and greet & payment (only cash was allowed.should've known something was up), the experience w/ A Gala Event was extremely disappointing. Please think twice before reaching out/booking this company.

Awful and underprepared service. My friends hired Gala for their wedding and, for whatever reason, Gala's staff brought a negative attitude and were outwardly rude to everyone else there. Around 80 guests attended and the caterers claimed they ran out of food after plating just one serving even though they were hired for 120+ guests! Truth is, they threw away all the "extra" food as soon as they could and left.

They didn't even provide food for the other hired attendees! If you're looking for a company that will take your money and provide terrible service then you found the right place.

If you want piss poor customer service.he's your guy! Booked in September 2021 for February 2022 but 2 weeks before my daughters sweet 16 he stopped responding even tho my text where being read! Come to find out he was having personal drama with his partner and disregarded the fact that he was running a business and had MY MONEY! Had to literally go to his business in order to get a response and I got a apology via TEXT after 5 days of stressing if I was gonna hv food.

I told him I could understand all that had that been communicated but it wasn't so I want my money back he said he would only give me back 50% why he felt that was ok idk? Long story short I had to find a new caterer the week of my event and then he called me greedy for wanting my money being that he didn't provided ANYTHING for my event? The nerve and audacity and no accountability! Yea don't be fooled! It's not about the money it's the principle of the matter! Do better Jose!

We celebrated a once in a lifetime event that was meticulously planned out and we booked this caterer to feed our guest. I actually went for a taste test and the food was prepared really well, which is why I chose to go with Gala Event Catering. Long story short, the food that was prepared for our event was NOT the same quality as what we had for the taste testing AND they did not provide the amount of food as agreed for the number of guest we projected.

The food was skimpy portions and dry chicken. We also had a second snack scheduled later in the event and the wings that we received were cheap quality! I would not recommend them or EVER use them again!

Called and proceeded to describe the services needed and owner hung up on me. Called a second time and asked why he had hung up on me and he asked if I was calling about catering and I said yes, and then he proceeded to ask for how many people. I said, can you please tell me why you hung up on me the first time? We got into an argument. End of dialogue.

Jose was a dream to work with from the start. We met him at the San Fernando open house and immediately loved his personality as well as the comprehensive services and classy styles of A Gala Event. He helped make our wedding everything we wanted it to be, making us laugh plenty of times on the way. And when we made mistakes in the planning, he'd come save the day no problem.

He was super flexible and always responded quickly to our needs. It's clear Jose makes a personal investment in ensuring that each of his events is a success. We'd definitely book through him again! Highly highly recommend the yummy cordon bleu, meat empanadas, and the cucumber sandwiches!

Due to COVID we had to scale back our wedding attendance by 90% and Jose was more than accommodating! The food was absolutely delicious and Jose was a pleasure to work with. Will absolutely be recommending A Gala Event to all of my friends and family! 10/10!

Amazing customer service. Jose, the owner, was very pleasant to work with and professional. The food was excellent. I highly recommend his company for catering.

Very rude customer service, I had not been aware that it had to be solely appointment based so when I went to pick up my mother to come with me we ended up getting at his salon at 2 and called him to explain or reschedule and was rude over the phone and even hung up without giving me a chance to explain. I understand we missed our appointment and could have easily rescheduled or told us in a different manner. If he is truly a business man and cares about his business he would not speak to potential clients in that manner.

Their food was amazing and their prices are out of this world amazing! They even have a chocolate fountain and a chomy fountain. (Sorry dont know how to spell)

I attended an event catered by a Gala event yesterday. I was thoroughly unimpressed and downright disappointed that my friend had to spend so much money for such a horrible experience. I know for a fact they were catering for 120 twenty people and supposed to be fully set up by 2 pm. We arrived at 1:55 p.m. and half of the tables and chairs were not covered, nor were they set.

At 2:30 some of the tables were still not set. One of the two dessert tables was also not covered or set up. We were served instant, sweetened tea with lemon flavor and it was about the grossest thing I've ever drank. Even the water had a horrible aftertaste. We were not given pitchers of water or tea until we asked for it. The servers were not friendly, but they were not outright rude either.

The servers were not also briefed on who to serve salads to, consequently there were two tables that did not get salads. 20 adults did not get a salad. Apparently the kids under the age of 10 we're not supposed to get a salad but were served the salad anyway causing the shortage. After the salads were finished the servers then put the napkins on the table.

The main chicken course was edible. Personally, I do not like chunks of meat in my mashed potatoes. But other seem to enjoy it. The server refused to allow access to the dessert table until a certain time. There should have been more than one server on the chocolate fountain as the line backed up to over 30 people a couple of times. The did a quick job of clean up, however no one would bring us more water either. Overall, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. There us a serious lack of organization and communication within this company.

Amazing service and the food was amazing. Wedding of 135 guests and every single once pleased with the main course and surprised with the late night tacos! Jose was very professional all the way, and very competitive pricing. Can't recommend him enough.

I came in to ask about catering services for some of our events, and was told "we are very busy and not interested". What a shame, I had heard such great things about this company!

Jose is very professional. We scheduled a taste test with him and were very impressed with his presentation and warmth. I'm looking forward to our event with him!

Our wedding was a couple weeks ago and it was amazing! We decided to use A gala after meeting Jose at a bridal fair and tasting his delicious food and seeing his beautiful linens and table decor. The prices were reasonable and he was good at communicating and laying everything out for us. We used Jose as our event planner and everything went so smooth.

Our DJ even complimented him because he kept everything on schedule to ensure a successful evening! Our guests are still talking about the chicken cordon bleu we served for dinner. I highly recommend Jose and A Gala!

Too bad there's not a negative rating because that's what I would give to Jose Ibarra. Completely disappointed with his unprofessionalism and the poor quality of the product he delivered. We were promised and pay for (not cheap by the way) a full arrangement of feathers and we got arrangements with less than half of what he demo' to us.

When we called to address the issue he told us he could fix it but we had to pay more! Why would we pay more for what we originally paid him for?! To me Mr. Ibarra lacks integrity and is a complete unprofessional. I would never recommend any of his services to anyone.

A Gala event was hired to caterer our wedding. They did an outstanding job. During our initial consultation, Jose Ibarra was very sincere and asked many questions to get a true picture of what we wanted. A Gala event was practically in charge of most of our wedding: flowers, linens, food and bar tending services. Jose was also our wedding planner/ coordinator.

He did a phenomenal job and we enjoyed our day to the max. Everything transitioned smoothly and we were so happy we hired their professional services. We highly recommend A Gala Event, you will not be disappointed.

During the consultation we were told Jose would provide us excellent service, he was so nice to us and everything changed once he got his payment in full. His staff was horrible and rude, they did not provided the services he promised us and even though he verbally told us he would do certain things, during my wedding they were not done. When we confronted him he told us "it wasn't on the contract so you don't get nothing!" He also started cussing and completly changed his attitude towards us.

When his staff was asked to do something they told us "Im not paid to do that" when we paid in full for those services. He deserves a below 0 rating. Do not use this guy Jose Ibarra and do not use their services. Because of their services, it ruined parts of my wedding!
